  2. high heat on the puller will heat the flywheel, not the crank......newb.

people have been welding the puller on the banshee flywheel for 20years, as a last resort, and it works......if you can lay a good weld in a timely manner. the heat will transfer to the flywheel faster than a torch. another thing you can do, if it refuses, is drill the flywheel along the taper. this will relax it some

    good info!..

  3. This worked like a charm on my bike the first time. I haven't had to do it again. Don't put heat on the crank. This will expand it and make it tighter in the flywheel.

lol..u guys crack me up on here!...i didnt say take a fucin torch to it put a lil heat on it and it wont make the crank expand neither it will pop off if they used any type of lok tight!..but like i said if it welded to the crank get the zawzaw out..

  4. if the person before you lapped it on and red lok tight you will need to heat the crank end before it will come off so throw a lil heat on it and see what it does...but if it welded itself to the crank then it will have to be cut off which suxs!..

  5. well, like i mentioned, a "miss-spark" (made up term) can suck a ring land, which is the "land" or piston area that holds the rings in...... the low detail pic didn't leave enough for me to see the difference. they can look similar, and you break a ring half the time you have a melt-down, which is what makes you stop, or it back-fire. i suspect this, because i don't see any sign of detonation, or melting on the un-damaged parts of the piston crown or dome. i have seen both first hand. did it seem to shake a lot, or pop at idle and lower rpm's? the lean condition can come from a glazed carburetor surface, or under-tightened clamp, as well as plugged jets, fuel separation, or other flow issues, even the gas cap. if you can get a more detailed pic, i can probably tell you exactly what happened. (fuel, spark, or snag) THIS TEAR DOWN IS VERY CRUCIAL IN PAYIN ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND TAKING PICS, due to the nature of the implications. i'd hate to see uninformed actions

CANT AGREE MORE ON TAKING PICS WHEN U START TO TEAR IT DOWN!..very important to show what caused this so it wont happen and again and see who is liable for damages also!>.

  6. As far as the leak down test the builder did that along with the squish. I don't know where the air leak would come from sence the intakes are new the leak down was done.....

when you tear it down take some more pics for us..here is a link i started on another site and most say from what they see in pics lean cond then another builder said it wasnt a lean condition so who knows until we see more pics...here is the link

  7. man, could you take some tinier pics for me? without seeing more detail, i would have to say it most definately looks like a lean burn-down. you can see the typical melt-out through the exhaust. that ring "snag" is it breaking off because the ring land was blown out. a closer pic could show if it was actually melted, or spark related, which can also suck a ring land....

these fellors are correct!...air leak - lean - fried piston n dome = more $$$$$ sorry bro next time do a leakdown test!..also from talkin to a few guys i know f.a.s.t aint cherry on building bikes and knows what he is doin!..

  8. My prodesign has been in my banshee since I have owned it. I bought in in 2006 and the previous owner has had in in there for a couple years.

agree no probs here neither!..if you dont run a washer it will mess it up and sometimes 2 washers..just make sure the impellar aint hitting the cover and everything is lined up proper..

  9. good luck is all i can say, most builders no matter what will point the finger at you and say you done something wrong but hopefully im wrong and he makes it right with ya...and yes if it all was new and he put the motor completly together then it was something he done wrong and needs to make it right!...
