  1. Hey blaze, I just got an '87. I went thru it, replaced several parts, inspected the top end. I just got out and rode it today, it ran like a champ for 6 hours! Now I am ready to sell it and get another project. It will prbably hit ebay in less than a week. It needs a little work yet. Needs swingarm bushings (or a rebuil;d kit) and J-arm bushings. It needs a seatcover. I would sell it for $1400. It will hit ebay with a 1k reserve.
  2. I still dont know which carb goes were. I think I just got screwed again, and probably have 2 number 2 bowls. Thats what I get for buying carbs from an HQ member!
  3. I had an 86 250r. I loved it! The biggest benifit to an R over the banshee to me is, if you toast a banshee, u gotta buy two of everything. 2 pistons, bore 2 cylinder, tune 2 carbs....... And the 250r's swingarm and rear axle carriers (chain tension) are light years ahead of the banshee setup........
  4. The full exaust systems for the 450r are top notch. Almost all the ice racers here in WI run Rossier exaust. Very good workmanship in thier pipes. I have no experince with there stuff on a shee tho.
  5. I need a slide for the left carb. (the carb with the choke knob) Lemme know what yougot. I need it shipped today, will check backat noon today . Can paypal.
  6. Im buying one today from a salvage yard, so I can get it running early next week. They want $30 for it!
  7. Im giving him time. Meanwhile I am just buying the parts to get this thing running. I shouldnt have these kind of problems when I bought a pair of complete stock carbs. Should have went the ebay route. We'll see what he thinks. I will have spent $55 for the carbs, and $50 for the parts to make em work.
  8. Both of my carb bowls are marked the same. One is marked 1-2P. the other is marked 1-2. I see a difference between the two. Under the angled pipe on the one on the left, it has a longer cast tube. The other bowl does not have this cast tube. Which bowl belongs on the carb with the choke knob on it. Also, i just bought these carbs, and they have never been run on this machine.
  9. Well this project is on hold once again. I got some stock carbs from a guy here on BHQ. He sent them with both the same slides. I got hosed big time. Paid $55 for a set of carbs and now I need a $73 slide. fhker
  10. Got carbs from this guy. Supposed to be all stock, and all there. One carb was missing the airscrew (no biggie). One carb had a bent needle. I mean real bad. Now I just found out they both have the same slide in them! They are useless unless I have a l/h and a r/h slide!!!! Shoulda went to ebay. Will file with paypal in the next few days.
  11. Will it run ok if I disconnect the TORS box and the connection by the carbs? (I cant connect the carbs to my harness)
  12. I am brining an 87 back to life. I bought some stock carbs from a 2000 or so banshee to put on it. The TORS plug on my harness will not plug into these leads from the carbs. The wires are the same colors, but the plug is a different style. Anyway, i want to just bypass the TORS system anyway. I do not want to buy a removal kit, I already got too mush cash in this thing and its not running yet. So, if I unplug the TORS box, and the TORS plugs from the carbs, and the TORS plug from the throttle cable, will that bypass the system?
  13. You said it shut down when you were letting off the throttle. It can and has happened that a 2 stoke can sieze up if you are "coasting" it. If your rpms are up and you just let off the throttle and let it coast, its just getting fule from the pilot jet. This is why i personally will not chop the throttle to do a plug check on a 2 stroke. motor still turning fast+ no fuel input= rebuild time!
