6th gear is not there and neutral is up from first (stock position) so I am guessing I have 1-5 (neutral in stock postion) will have 6th off the shaft, launch in first. Can I start in second or do I always need to start in first ?

I bought a bike just recently it has an override tranny, I am guessing 1-5 since it has no 6th gear. My question is I heard I needed to make sure the bike is in nuetral when coming down a steep hill is this true or just a myth any info would be appreciated thanks
