my quad doesnt really "pop" like its backfiring.....it just sorta "chugs and puffs along"....if that makes any sense. OKAY THE DEAL WITH THE 450 AND 400 THING.... i posted that i got a 450 because thats wat my dad had told me over the phone. in all actuality---it was a 400ex. felt pretty stupid since i had posted that i had a 450, but figured it wouldnt really matter if i "edited" it or not. so there ya go. i have a honda 400ex. thanks again for understanding that i'm still a rookie maybe i need an oil change...

i have a HONDA 400EX ....... was riding it today when it just shut off. when i tried to start it up it wouldn't stay on and once it did, when i rode it in 1st gear, it made popping noises and wouldnt run properly. checked the oil and it needs changing... could this be what's wrong?? the only reason i ask is its not gonna be changed for a while and i wanted to know if thats all i have to worry about.

well there was weird popping wen the shop guy rode it....but watever. u know my dad wasnt gonna do nething but wat he wanted. anywho i hope it'll work by the time i'm ready to use it...this coming weekend...i mean seriously...

yea well looks like i might just get a new shee.....my dads sorta getting excited about wats supposed to be "his" new quad and thinking he wants to keep my 400 and get me a knew quad....he's crazy. maybe i will end up with a shee.

i just recently got a honda 400ex and the first time i started it there was a popping noise. my dad decided to take off the baffle and ride it around and it sounded like an unhappy machine. he decided to give it to some buddies so it could get a check up and they decided to get a new stater. the thing is...i dont know wat that is or why we need it. my friend got frustrated because he said the quad didnt need all that work (they took it completely apart). my dad wont do anything other than wat he wants...so its too late to turn back now. i was just curious about wat might have been wrong. help me out guys so that next time i can look at it myself and avoid the surgical amputation my poor quad had to endure. oh yea, keep in mind that this quad was only ridden 3 times about a year ago. it sat around neglected and so we changed the oil. it was a day after that the popping noise occured.

DUDES...i so totally just got my FIRST quad ever... it's a Honda 450...haven't seen her yet, but going to on thursday. i'm no longer just another newbie...i'm cool now! well, when i ride it i will be. see ya in the sand!
