Yeah, hope they come out good. I actually modded my old Tecate 4 hood buy welding filling and painting the headlight and light switch holes to have a smoothy look.
-
Okay, little low on cash now to start working on my motor so I am doing some plastic surgery. I cut out a few inches on the center and used that piece as backing reinforcement to rivet. Next I will do some plastic welding and use some plastic filler and then paint white or black. I did take some pics along the way an will post when I get this process done. I should have a little more time to work on i around xamss. The overall style I have so far is what I wish some aftermarket company would come up with.

I have been planning on intergrating lights into the lower 2 air vents below the rad cover. I think don't think cutting the air flow off these would hurst since some aftermarket front fenders are smooth.
-
Never mind. I got a +2 for now.

Looking for +4 round housing swingarm with carrier. Email me a pic and price/condition. Email: [email protected]

Or if I was in my 20's yet I would have used "Sex, Drugs & Banshee's"

"Financially Embarrassed" or "Built with beer" would be my picks but also could do... "Got Alcohol?" "Got PreMix?" "Usin Only 2-Strokes"

Street legal ATV's in Michigan or anywere US
FTGRACING replied to FTGRACING's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I did some more checking. The only way you could make a 4-wheeled machine street legal in Michigan is to meet the classification as a kit car, with windshield, wipers seat belts etc. But you could do a three wheeled atv, since it is classified as a motorcycle. So you could do that ugly conversion buy running one wheel in back or 2 up front. Or buy an old Tri-Z or something and get that titled as on on road motorcycle or the take a current dual sport bike that is street legal and added a swinger from an axle to make it a trike. Now you van make a Rhino or RZR street legal since it is easy to get it up to spec as a car would be. -
Like every body said DON'T DO IT. I suggest +2 a-arms or a YFZ450 front end convert from ebay over that. But if you want it wider and cheap, pop off your tires cap off the old valve stem, drill an new hole for the stem on the other side and filp the rims around and you have cheap extra width. I know that is harder on the spindles doing this mod but I did that on my wifes Kawasaki Lakota to match the 2+2 axle and it has been ridden hard for years with no issues.

Never mind on selling these. I had an idea. I am going to make a small spacer between the pipe and the silencer to put the O2 sensor in. I know some people say O2 is not good in a 2 smoker but if it is that far out it may help. I just want to be able to log my AF when tuning.

Hey, I have a set of the chromed pipes from Tom and havn't used them yet and am going to sell for $500 SHIPPED firm in the US, if not I will put them on ebay. These were the first chrome set he did and they were the ones on the Banshee with the chick. They have not been started with at all. The only reason I'm selling them is I am working on trying to make a efi system to run on my Shee and I don't want to drill and weld for the O2 sensors on these beautiful pipes. I am using some old DG's to get it working. Once I get it all working I will get a set of the unfinished ones from Tom, mount the O2's and then have them chromed. Call me with any questions (734) 845-7620

http://www.city-data.com/forum/motorcycles-scooters-atvs-boats-watercrafts-snowmobiles/748972-make-atvs-street-legal.html Hey, guys look at the above site. I guess the Feds passed a new law few years back making it possible to make an ATV street legal in the US. Some states it is legal already. Could anyone post on here if it is legal in there state. I am going to check on Michigan the state I'm in. I know it is probably not be easy to get it legalized but I guess some county's in my state let you ride on the side of the road so that is getting closer. It would be sweet to have a supermoto Banshee to cruise around town with.

new pipes, just released
FTGRACING replied to Borrink Performance's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Yes the chromes do look nice. And will picking them up this weekend from Tom. Talked to him on the phone a bit today and a seemed like a great person to do business with. The bad thing is my Banshee is in pieces and won't get any photos for a few months, but he had one set of chromes and I needed that so I am already to go when my quad is ready. -
Hey, I wonder if there is any cool European ATV magazines. I when i used to ride sport bikes I used to get a few cool UK mags and they even showed boobs! I know they can't show those is a US mag but at lest they could show us a nice set of Banshee jugs!

I have narrowed it down to Pearl White or Black plastic with the green frame. I figure after I get the frame and rest of the chassis done then I will make a decision on the plastics then. Thanks for the input guys.
-
Yeah, I have thought about those to but I am leaning toward having green somewhere in the mix since I'm also a Kawie guy.
-
Yeah I thought about the black/blue combo also and even the green frame and black plastic but that one has been done alot. I will have to do some mock up pics when I get a minute. I also really loved my old yfz450 color scheme but I have already done that one.
-
Come on guys any input. Do you think a shee would look good with the color combo as my old yfz or the candy blue/green scheme? Just trying to decide on frame color before I send to the powder coater. Below is the shee I will rebuild and the previous post is my old yfz.
-
Okay, picked up this rough Shee and am going to do a total redo. What do you guys think should I do the color combo that my old YFZ450 MX quad in the pic that has white/granny smith apple green/blue and black OR a candy blue frame with the candy green plastic similar to some of the Kawasaki Ninjas with the tank and rad cover black (do you think 2 candy colors is to much (also motor will be polished and powder coated for accent with chrome swinger and a-arms on either choice? Just want some input.

FYI everyone the motor is gone.

LSR Raptor 660 axle for aftermarket banshee axle
FTGRACING replied to blaster668's topic in Swap and Trade
Hey, is the YFZ 450 axle the same as the Banshee axle? My YFZ spare is an 05. -
I have a KX500 motor I got off ebay a while back I was going to do a trike project with but it sits (I was told it was a strong runner). Anyway, I am buildinging another shee so I could use a straight A-Arm frame, steering stem, axle, seat, maybe atother set of rear fenders or some in or out of frame drag pipes. Just let me know what you got.
-
I was thinking about going to RDZ for some motor mods and custom drag pipes. I was going to go with Trinity but I live in Michigan and would like to support a local business. I just want to know who has had any RDZ work done and how did you like it. Also who would you pick to do your work RDZ or GrandRiver Racing?
-
Hey, if set up correctly a shee motor can be a potent MX mill. Especially if you put it in a 250R based frame. If you are a skilled rider and have a good handeling chassis you should be good in all but the maybee the proclass. If you have any doubts sell your quad and get a Yamie or the new trick Suzuki 450.
-
BigRed350x, sorry you don't like the Tecate's there are many out there that do. Ask 370banshee, he bought one also. Anyway, Congrats Shawn your new ride rocks. That is the perfect combo of power and handleing.
