  1. Got a set of the old-style Rocket Pipes for sale. Apparently, these are getting harder and harder to find. They're a fantastic set of pipes, anyone who's had them will tell you. I've run CPI in-frames, T-5's, etc... The CPI's were my favorite until the day I got these. These are black, not chrome. Could use a coat of paint, but no dents or dings. I don't currently have silencers, but I know someone with a set of FMF PowerCore 2's that I'll pick up next week. If you want just the pipes, I'll take $300. If you want me to get the silencers for you, it'll be $375. Call/text anytime, my cell number is 321-271-9520. Located in Colorado Springs, CO Thanks. -Tim
  2. Got rid of my Banshee's last year, so just cleaning out the garage now. Looking to sell them outright so I can get some parts/attachments for my tractor. If you happen to have any 3-point or Bobcat-style attachments, I might be interested. Otherwise, I'll post up the "official" ad in the for-sale section probably Mon or Tues if I don't hear back. -Tim
  3. Yeah, I had them on eBay, but I don't think the guy who got them is going to come through. Haven't heard from him in a few days. I'll give him a couple more days to sort things out, I don't want to sell them out from under him if he's sincere. The Buy-it-Now was $350, but I'm open to offers. These are black, no silencers. You should be able to use your old ones. -Tim
  4. Gotcha. Yeah, these are probably 2-3 years old, so I guess they're old-style. Someone stole the silencers last year, but they definitely looked like the old ones from what I remember. Thanks for the help. -Tim
  5. I have a set for sale, had a couple of people ask me which ones they are. How do I know for sure? -Tim
  6. Forgot to mention, the tank and turn signals are pretty banged up too. Again, all of the mechanical parts are there, including the new frame, and appear to be in good shape. It mostly needs cosmetic work. -Tim
  7. For a complete RZ, just needs fairings, and pipes. I have all of the mechanical components. The gauge cluster is cracked, but not horrible. Seat could use refinishing, but if you get the Aerotech bodywork it comes with seat, lights, etc... I would take pics, but it's at my parent's house in Chicago. Will be heading out there in a few weeks, so I can bring it back with me or deliver somewhere along the way. -Tim
  8. Awesome, good info to know. I'll have to check and see if I have a set of stockers somewhere.
  9. Just added this stuff to eBay, at a much lower Buy-it-Now price. Here's the motor: RZ 350 Motor, eBay Here's the pipes: Rocket Pipes Thanks guys. -Tim
  10. No compression gauge, the local parts store didn't have one. I went ahead and pulled the head so you can see inside. Cylinder walls feel smooth, no noticeable scars. The cross-hatch is faded, but you can still see it in the pic.
  11. Yes, the motor was running when I removed it. Haven't fired it up in over a year, it's been sitting in my garage. I did drain the gas out of the carbs and plug the intake ports, so there shouldn't be any issues. I don't have a compression gauge, but will see if I can borrow one. The kickstarter feels like it has excellent compression, but I'll see if I can get some actual numbers for you. -Tim
  12. And the pipes.... Someone stole the silencers (WTF???), but you should be able to use any set of silencers.
  13. Been out of the Banshee world for a few years, time to clean up the garage. Like the ad says, a complete RZ setup from a low-mileage bike. Includes carbs, electronics, wiring, PowerValve solenoid, and a set of Rocket Pipes (These are the only pipes made that will clear the Power Valves) I actually have the complete RZ bike, if anyone wants it. Needs to be put back together. Also a crap-load of spare parts... Clutch, V-Force Carbon Fiber Reeds, gaskets, spare transmission, etc... Take it all for $1500. Located in Colorado Springs. Might be able to deliver along the interstate between here and Chicago. Will post pics if anyone is interested. -Tim cell: 321-271-9520
  14. I don't log on here much. Please shoot me questions through Ebay, I'll get them much faster that way. Ebay Link - 670cc Crankentein Rotax Thanks. -Tim
  15. Finally got the BIN price changed. I still left it rediculously high though. Like I said in the ad, a big part of that is just to make sure some 18 year old who doesn't know how to ride won't kill himself on it. That, and I'm hoping one of the Denver Broncos are dumb enough to buy it. But if not I'll just have to ride the crap out of it myself. I've still got that 670 Rotax motor in the garage for it that needs to be finished... That could make things interesting. I really just listed it out of curiousity more than anything. I fully expect it to not sell, but I'll be pretty freakin stoked if it does. RIPPEN, I'd love to show it off. How far from Denver are you? You're welcome to take her for a spin sometime. -Tim
  16. Yeah, that was a typo.... Ebay won't let me change it, so now I just look like an ass. There is a significant "pimp fee" tagged on, but not $150,000 worth. Like I said, I'm pricing it along the lines of a custom cruizer. The tank on the back is a 5-gallon auxillary. Until gas stations start selling premix, it makes it a little more convenient for longer trips. I do take it up I-25 to Denver now and then, so it's nice to not have to refuel until I get back home.
  17. Hahaha.. shameless plug, I know. Unfortunately the ex has my balls in a handbasket until I can get rid of some of the toys.
  18. Sorry for the late reply guys, haven't logged on in a while. Both are round carriers. I'll send you each a PM tonight for more info if you're still interested. -Tim
  19. I only know of one other street legal quad in the entire US, so your chances are slim to none. Transferring to another state is easy, Getting the initial paperwork to certify it as legal in the first place is the hard part. Its not cheap, either. Just for DOT approved tires and the other parts, you're over $1000. -Tim
  20. That could be, but again... It may be one of those laws that are so obscure, no one at the DMV really knows about it. The biggest reason you see a single rear wheel conversion is that by only having three wheels, it's very easy to register your ATV as a motorcycle. Federal laws define motorcycles as having three wheels or less. As soon as you add the fourth wheel, it's a passenger car and you have to play by a whole different set of safety regulations. You can apply for an exemption from federal safety standards if you can prove that your design is at least as safe as the current standard in a vehicle of the same class. In this case, I would do a side-by-side comparison of my quad to a motorcycle in terms of cornering, acceleration, stability, and braking. No doubt the quad will win in all categories. This would allow me to play by motorcycle safety rules rather than passenger cars, which are much easier to work with. If I can get them to buy off on it at the federal level, I would have a two year exemption to build as many as I can and they would all be 100% legit. Trust me, I've done my homework.
  21. For TX, you're pretty much out of luck. They specifically have a law that forbids "any four-wheeled vehicle in which the driver straddles the seat". The law is a bit buried, so not many people know about it. You may be able to get one with a clean title from another state and register it that way. This would avoid having to go to the state highway safety office to have it inspected. Once you have a clean title from one state, you can pretty much transfer it to any other state without any trouble. For IL, I'm not too sure. What I did was find a copy of the DOT regulations online, print them off, then dig through them one by one. It helps to highlight all of the areas that pertain to you, or areas that you think might give you trouble. Some specific laws to pay attention to are the seat-belt laws. Some states will say thing like "mandatory on all vehicles manufactured after 1975", while other states will say ""mandatory on all vehicles manufactured after 1975 if originally equipped". That makes a huge difference. I actually ride with the DOT printout and all of the highlighted pages in my backpack. I've only been pulled over once, and the cop didn't give me any trouble about it. Once he saw that I was polite, respectful, not doing anything stupid, and had all of my paperwork in order, he thought it was the coolest thing in the world. -Tim
  22. Yeah, this is the one that was on Ebay. I saw it, and it had everything I wanted to do to mine. The price was a bit steep, so I gave the guy a called and we worked out a great deal. Okay, on the street legal thing... Colorado is not one of those states that let everyone ride ATVs on the road. But, if you happen to find a few key loopholes, it IS possible. It took me literally two years of research and digging through all of the DMV regulations page-by-page. The good news is that this isn't just a "local" registration like most people have, which limits you to riding only around town. This is a full-up state and federally approved registration, so I can drive it coast-to-coast and on the interstate if I want. (Already have in TX, that was a blast! The looks I got passing people on the Loop were crazy!) I actually thought of opening my own business doing the conversions, now that I have the paperwork maze figured out. My biggest fear is having someone hurt themselves and suing me for it. -Tim
  23. Thanks guys, glad you like it. The plastics are a candy-apple red or crimson color, but the industrial lighting in that garage really dorks up the pics. I wish I could take credit for building it, but this is how I got it. Since my Banshee going to be ridden on the street, I wanted to set it up like a TT racer. The guy I bought this one from says he had about $25k into it, and I got it from him for a lot less than I could buy half the components myself. The plan is to take all of the components, and swap them onto my frame since mine is already street legal. About the only thing I might add is a steering stabilizer, and I've got a +10 swingarm for the rear to hopefully keep it more stable on the highway. I've also got a 670cc Rotax motor that I'm putting together, but that's going to be down the road a bit. I'll probably have more pics to show off next weekend. -Tim
