  1. Its not the crank that I would be worried about getting shit out. I would be more worried about that DOHC head coming apart, because that will be the weak link if a builder balances the crank to match the piston, then vibration would really be cut down.

Look at the Ferrari F1 engines. The technology is there for single cylinder 4 strokes...maybe not 12 cylinders but 2..not a problem. gocanam

  2. +1 Most 421's peak tq is what my bike will carry through out the entire powerband

Ya there is no chance of a 500cc, 2 vs 4 stroke challenge. It would be unfair with stock cases...maybe when they come out with the twin 4stroke 350 they will bite...

and how high/fast they rev will mean something....efficiency of the 2 stroke has limits...torque will get you there

  3. yea you deff dont want a cheeta cub a straight cub is much betta..

4 strokes have to rev that high to make any power.

my old 350cc rev'd to like 11,500-12k and made just under 100hp.

most 450cc bikes i ahve seen rev to about 10,500 and make average of about 60ish. yippie.. what does RPM have to do with it anyways? the ds and rappy 700's are making a shit ton more HP/tq than the 450's are with less rpm/.. most of them are done around 8000 to 8500

I know they are making the torque way before the HP takes over. I think you ment the 2 strokes have to rev that high to make any power..and I THINK torque might get you up to speed faster. idk.

  4. There is not many ways a twin cub cannot lose to a single 4stroke firing on every other stroke. it just cant happen. they should be twice as fast...

We have been through this before. I think we need the fastest 2 and 4 stroke class with 500cc being the limit..N.A. stock cases, chassis...

  5. FI has really helped the 450's rev quicker and higher, but surely a banshee revs higher. I know its atleast really close.

Yep fuel injection helps but is being carbed all that bad if that what the motor needs...sorry to get off topic...450 and banshee is alot closer from when the 1st 450 rolled off the line...i will shut up now.

  6. As I said, it takes alot of setup to go from the fastest in 300ft to a top finish at dumont. I just dont like seeing the 4joke talk...but am used to it and enjoy watching the banshee dominance getting smaller. I am proud of what I am watching. Do the banshees even rev as fast as certain single 4 strokes now a days? Top RPM?

  7. I can't cut him off...that's an automatic loss if I enter his lane. But it no biggy for real I seen how close that race was I know I can take him. I beat him out the hole & ran out of gear that's the only reason I kept losing.

IDK, but I do know setup is everything...if you ran out of gear he already had you beat. It's a short race, not top end...

As you probably noticed, the 4jokes, as someone put it, are ready to put the 2stroke smoke records down...

3.69 e.t., single cylinder, with stock cases, N.A. is not a joke...all about setup...a ugly DS by the way

  8. hell yea. 1997 was the best year for them. and get a f350 because they have a solid front instead of that shitty i-beam that the 250 had.

ive been looking for one on long island for a while. cant find one worth buying. i want one so bad.

I would go with a later year 1999 and up as the best 7.3 power stroke, It comes with the better rods. Also if you can find one with the 6 speed manual...

  9. I am looking forward to seeing some of these different engine/pipe/carb combo's tested and more towards the dune/play bike setups. I think I would like it in a well setup 450 frame...I have been wanting to do the street bike conversion to my spare DS chassis but I think I would rather go with a reliable Serval direction with out leaning towards a drag bike...just need a rolling 450 chassis to trade for my DS chassis.
