  1. Depends on the path we choose. Usually about 120 or so..... No matter what it will be the best ride of your trip if you make it! On a banshee you should run 5.5 gallon tank. If not you will need at least 2 gallons on back. We also have a fuel stop we hit once or twice depending on which way we go...... Even our 4 strokes strap at least 1 gallon on back.
  2. We will get there on the 6th. We will try to accumulate as much land as possible. We leave on the 17th.
  3. Just some Veteran Glamis advice. Be extra careful and always follow someone that knows the dunes if possible. I can not tell you how many injuries I have seem from riders new to Glamis not knowing the dunes! It is a awesome place that can be extremely dangerous to people that do not respect it! Keep the drinking to camp........ Do not try riding drunk in the dunes especially not knowing the terrain. It will be a awesome experience for you.
  4. Thats cool. When we first started going to Glamis we stuck to the sand and ran paddles also. Believe me we love the dunes, just after a few days we like to explore. We go out for 11 days and like to hit everywhere available. Out in Utah like Coral Pink the sand is much softer and finer and we run paddles, in Glamis paddles are really not necessary. It all comes down to preference.....
  5. Send me your paypal info. Thanks, Doc
  6. We run paddles about 10% of the time. We ride El Centro to Gecko Rd To Colorado River through the Mountains To Mexico and everywhere between. Nobody on the trip will do runs like us guaranteed! Absolutely not necessary running paddles unless you run camp to olds and back only like most of the crew that run on this trip................
  7. My shee is hard to get into and out of 1st gear when running. Also tough to up shift under power like when drag racing. Any body have a modded shift star or anything else that can help? Thanks, Doc
  8. MarineNYC........ Are you gonna step up and get a 5.5 gallon gas tank??? Bring tires with you for all terrain types, not just sand..... We will be doing a few long distance runs if you are interested! Are any of your boys gonna be there that I met the 1st time we met you out there? Doc
  9. Just so everyone knows lights are of paramount importance..... Just put a order in for the biggest light available....................................................................... ............. (FULL MOON!) :geek:
  10. Temps in Glamis have been right about 42-48 low and 72-78 highs. In Feb you can probably add 5 degrees to both! It will be about 50 lows and 80 highs.... PERFECT RIDING!
  11. 12-13th we will be there in force! 19-20th we wi be back home!
  12. Looking for a modded shift star. Banshee too hard to shift! Who mods the shift star well? Doc
  13. No.... I will be O.K. My Cheetah PV Banshee does have 90-100 HP. My 450R 60HP it is a full DASA 450R it runs pretty good. No matter what I would not ride a slouch..... lol
  14. The best riding is during the week anyway. Weekends get busy and you end up doing more sight seeing!!
  15. Well Boys....... I just might make this trip after all... My shee is on the stand being worked over. The 450R will have to do!!
  16. JT/MarineNYC, February is looking tough for me?????? Hopefully it can and will work out?? I am leaving for Caribbean in morning and will not be back till 12/22. Doc
  17. JT, That would be a shame to not keep all together! You know I missed last February due to a missing arm..... I made it out for Halloween. Hopefully February works out.. We shall see. Doc
  18. Looking for advice on what is the best mods to help Transmission shift smoothly especially when accelerating! Any help appreciated, Doc
  19. Actually, if I can get this trans shifting smoothly..... I would rather convert back to a all around bike again. I had same problem with stock clutch cable set-up as well. Hydrolic set-up just went on.
  20. I have a 421 Cheetah powervalve motor. 1.Everything is new in clutch including a Hinson basket. It is difficult putting into gear and getting neutral while running? Oh yea also a hydrolic clutch. 2.I had tranny sent to a shop in CT and they under cut I think every other gear polished all components and forged everything? I think that was it. The tranny is very hard to shift especially when under a load? Trans was like this before work was done also. I have heard of getting gears straight cut and also heard of a shift star mod??? What is needed to be done to get this tranny shifting smoothly? 3. I have 34mm Keihens, CPI bigbore pipes, V-force reeds. Jetting is CEL needle in middle clip, 150 mains and 50 pilots. The bike runs very well except while drag racing it seems to pull very well and then runs flat early in every gear especially 4th-6th?? Gearing is 14t-44t with 20" 9 paddle padlabrats +6 swingarm. Any help would be appreciated Thanks, Doc
  21. Halloween weekend high in upper 80`s. Just get some real lights and enjoy 55-65 degree temps at night!! Night riding is great!! We enjoy the night just as much as day!
  22. See #1Banshee and I are always at church praying for more riding days!
  23. Jay, We park at Pad 2-2.5 close to the humps/dunes by rd. No problem with sand there. We like to take long rides to buttercup, colorado river etc. Most of us have big tanks as well. Come and join us as we will have a huge camp set-up. Camp will just keep growing as many are rolling in on different days as well! Doc
