  1. There was for sure alot of condensatin out there that weekend. Just sitting around outside for an hour or so my back and hair would feel wet. What are "power jets"? Thanks for the choke tip.
  2. Lean on the main? I am running a 290 for the main. Is it possible the oil is not mixing well with the fuel and gumming that jet up when cold? Cold = 35 deg F
  3. I checked for slides sticking, but did not see that they were. The throttle had good snap back aswell. I need to try in start it tonight when its cold and check for sure. Also, when I pulled the carbs off I noticed a film buildup on the insides of them. Could my oil be leaving this film? Its maxima super m. I've always used this oil with no problems.
  4. If it was an air leak would it be noticeable during the day when it runs fine?
  5. I took my shee out to glamis a couple of weekends back and it did something it never had done before. During the day time it ran great, but at night the throttle would rev out high and out of control like if the carb slides were sticking. I cleaned out the carbs and slides, but still did the same thing all weekend...runs great in the day, throttle sticks at night. Any clues as to what could be causing this to happen only when its cold and damp out? only mods are toomey T5's & K&N filter. btw, the bike still has the TORS on it. Thanks
  6. By the way, last night I re-tightened up my carb clamps and fired it up...runs great. It was for sure leaking air between carb and intake boots. Thanks for everyones help
  7. I ride Glamis, sea level and 60-70deg days but night can drop to low 40's.
  8. You are absolutley right...That did not even cross my mind, Thanks. Do you know about how much I should increase the main after I add the Toomey 2:1 filter? Currently running 280.
  9. Air leak seems feasible...I'll try and check for air leaks also. I wanted to remove the stock airbox and put the toomey 2:1 filter to try and eliminate possible air leak spots. Is anyone running this setup?
  10. I am running the stock carb setup with the tors. What will happen when I unplug all the tors electrical? Where in the tors setup could the problem be? Lean could be a posibility because I have not re-jetted for colder weather. I am currently running what Toomey suggests, 280 main, w/T5's, K&N in the airbox with lid, no snorkel and air box vents. Also, a few weeks ago I noticed my coolant boiling out when I went on a night ride at glamis. The shee got pretty hot and I stopped half way back to camp to let it cool down. Night temp was around 40deg compared to almost 80deg in the day.
  11. Hey everyone. My shee keeps acting up and I dont know whats up? Any Ideas? This is what it does... Starts just fine but once warmed up the throttle revs up and down uncontrolably (especially when I am on the throttle). Feels like throttle is sticking but does not stay stuck open like carb slides are dirty. Can float settings cause this? Thanks for your help.
  12. Thanks for the input...I am totally leaning towards the T5's. So far only Toomey has told me to get the T6's for my stock bike.
  13. Still not sure which is best for me... toomey T5's or T6's. I have a stock bike with k&n filter, ride in glamis sand dunes only. Whats the difference? I do not plan on any mods. I do not do much drag racing just duning. Are the T6's worth the extra$$?
