  1. I'm moving to Warner Robins, GA and was wondering where some good places to ride were. Thanks!
  2. Here are some pics... I ordered a new stator from Ricky Stator 100v.
  3. Mark- Thanks. I don't have the pulley remocal tool to remove the flywheel, so I am letting it sit in teh garage opened up tonight with my heaters on it. I am sure theFlywheel/stator were sitting in 1/2-1" of water with all the water that came out. I'll dry it as good as I can then see what happens.
  4. WOW Guys! I took the stator cover off tonight and all the water came out. There is rust on the flywheel points and also pickup. I'll post pics of the nastiness when I find the USB cable for my camera. I guess my question now is... is everything salvageable or is everything shot? Thanks
  5. That's one of my main problems... I have no friends right now. Well, I have no friends close by that aren't busy with their snowmobiles (although we have NO snow). I'll find a manual though, and check it out, thanks. I'll tear it apart today and check the stator. I assume it is below the black cover on the engine. If not, I'll be checking out something else.
  6. I checked my connections and pulled the coil off and cleaned the connections. I also checked for continuity to ground for the ground wire of the coil and it was good. I checked for spark again and had a very faint spark every now and then. Is this a clue to a certain component? Thanks for any input.
  7. Have any more details on this? I am tors ignorant? Is there a way to check it out?
  8. I'm not dumb, but I HAVE tried starting it with the key in the OFF position.
  9. That actually happened once before. The connection was disconnected. Of course, I checked spark plugs, adn tried starting it a million times before checking out the obvios.
  10. I had to leave my Banshee outside for a couple days during a move and it got pretty wet. I tried riding it, and it wouldn't start. There is no spark on either cylinder. Where do I start troubleshooting? What can be most effected by moisture? That is what I was thinking would be the probable cause. Is there a way to check my ignition to ensure proper resistance? Thanks in advance. John
  11. So, when I ride, my thumb gets all cramped up from holding the throttle... I wear gloves, but the ones I had made it worse. I thought I saw some with a special pad or gel in the thumb to help reduce the stress on my thumb. Help me pick a nice set of gloves.... What do you guys recommend? Thanks!
  12. I'm running the 89 octane stuff we have at the pumps. Anything else up here has ethanol in it. I also use the Yamalube R oil for mixing.
  13. Thanks for all the help and resommendations.... BTW. This started out of the blue. That is what boggles me the most. I haven't adjusted anything on the quad since I got it. I'll check it out tomorrow. Neighbors won't be to happy if it starts by chance at this hour.
  14. When you say topend, are you referring to the head or just a new piston set? Thanks!
  15. Kinda a two stroke beginner here. I understand where/what they are. But will I screw anything up by checking them? I was kinda thinking it could be them also. I was looking to do a carbon fiber upgrade, so now might be the time to do it.
  16. It does start up just fine after it's running. Maybe a good ol' carb cleaning will do the trick. I kinda wonder if some of the K&N oil didn't get in there and gunk them up... I cleaned the filter but I know from previous experience that I dont' need a lot of oil, and use it sparingly, but who knows.
  17. Yes. I have tried half choke... Full Choke... No choke... about 3/4 throttle while starting
  18. I picked it up a couple of months ago. It bought it from a friend who had it in storage and didn't get to ride it too often. When this started, I threw a new set of plugs in it. The old ones looked great and I checked for spark... it was good. I got to ride it quite a bit with no problems before this happened..... And like I said, once it runs, it runs great. What should the compression be at? I'll check it tomorrow. Since it could be tired, how do I wake this puppy up? Thanks!
  19. So, my Banshee is being a PITA to start!!! It just takes forever. Last time I rode it, I actually pushstarted it with another quad. It took four times before it got going. Once it starts, it runs like a champ. Any of you guys have any suggestions? I am a Banshee newbie, so I would appreciate help from more experienced folks. Thanks in advance. John
