  1. ok, well mines an 01, so that means it's not a functioning brake light then right? so everything is cool? thanks.
  2. just need a little help with it. when i turn my lights on low the brake like gets bright, then when i turn the lights to hi it then gets dim. then when i press the rear brake nothing happens, doesn't get brighter or anything. it's weird. so basically, when my lights are on low it's as if i'm pressing the rear break but i'm not, then when i turn them to high it's as if i'm not pressing the break. does that make sense? do you think it's an electrical problem or is it possible to have the wrong type bulb in there? thanks.
  3. what should i have the psi at? i just got the irazrs in the mail today.
  4. thanks for the reply. i'm kinda leaning toward the irazrs myself.
  5. i need to get some new tires. i need to get something with a little better traction. i mostly ride in the desert so there is a lot of loose dirt around and rocks. i was thinking of getting either the irazr or the holeshot mxr4. which would you guys prefer or do you have any better suggestions. thanks.
  6. where are the VIN numbers located on the banshees? i can't find mine. thanks for the help.
  7. if you are willing to spend around 25K, why not get a used GTO. i love those things. i still want to get one but just can't right now. you can get one for around that and should have less that 30K miles. do that then get one of these http://www.rpmoutlet.com/gtoati.htm that should get you to where you want to be at the track.
  8. i just bought a banshee here in AZ and the guy said he got it when he lived in nebraska and he never even heard of getting tiltles for them until he came out here. but everyone out here is telling me that they don't think that's right and that there has to be a title for it.
  9. does anybody know if in Nebraska when you buy an ATV, do they give titles for them or not? i know it's a weird questions but i'm in arizona and need to know. thanks.
  10. no no no, sorry for the confusion 2twin350s. that pic i posted of my carbs is an old one, the same one i posted before. the choke tube is on there. i may be a little dumb about this stuff now, but i never make the same mistake twice and i'm a quick learner. but thanks for watching out man. i took it for a ride today to try to burn through a tank of gas taking it easy. it sure is running good now,and starting so dang easy now. i can't wait till i can really get on it!!
  11. ok well, i guess my bike was just flooded yesterday cuz when i got it from them they had left the gas on. i did call them today about that wire harness and they said it is fine the way it is. i got it started first kick, that was pretty impressive to me. so how important is it to run 2 full tanks of gas through it before you start getting on it?
  12. i guess i'm just too honest, so i think everyone else is too. my mistake. they gave me instructions on how to break it in, the first steps were to start it and let it run for 10 minutes on idle then let it cool down and do that twice. they said they did that part. the rest like running 2 tanks of gas through it before you really get on it and stuff is up to me. they said they stand behind all their work and if i have any problems to just bring it back so i'm not worried about that. i'll mess with it tomorrow and see what happens or give them a call. anyone here live in the phoenix/mesa arizona area?
  13. well the thing is, i got it back from the shop without starting it there. i got home and tried to start it and it wouldn't start. i saw that thing hanging down and was wondering if that it why. but it only has a reach of about 5 inches in any direction and i can't figure out where it plugs into? and the shop said they started it a couple times to "break in" the motor, so i'm wondering how they started it if that was unplugged. i didn't try very hard to start it cuz it was still on the trailer tied down. but i thought it would start pretty easy now since it just got a new top end and stuff. so how would i get rid of the tors and what's the advantage of that?
  14. here's a picture of my carbs
  15. how do i know if i have TORS or not. like i said, i don't remember it being there before i took it to the shop. i personally haven't done anything to the bike, i have no idea what has been done to it before me eaither. is there a way to fine out if i have tors or not? where would it hook up to?
  16. just got my bike back from the shop and i don't remember this just hanging there when i took it in there. does anybody know what this is and where it is supposed to be hooked up? thanks
  17. nice! so do i just do a search for my year and a arm bushings? one more questions, what does it hurt if they are bad and i keep riding it? thanks for the replies. this forum rocks!
  18. ok, if anyone has read my other post they know i have my bike in the shop right now getting a new top end. they called me up today and told me that the bushings (i think it's what he said) in the upper a arms are shot and need to get replaced. he quoted me a price of $200 to put them in and parts were i think about another $200. he said like $49 each side and you need 2 for each side? does that sound right. and that seems like something i can do myself. what do you guys think? thanks
  19. so where do you get a clymers repair manual? next time i will probly do it myself. i'm totally ignorant when it comes to quads though, but i do have some experience with doing work on cars. so if i have some good instructions i bet i could do it.
  20. gosh dang, i wish i did live near you. i would bring it to you in a heart beat. but unfortunately i'm in arizona. this place is not a dealership, it's just this guy that owns his own shop. the only reason i went there is because i have heard from a few people that this guy does really good work. so i figured why not. more bad news is this guy said i probly won't get it back for a week and a half.
  21. well, i took it down to a shop today and they said i needed a new top end. total price tag is $600. yikes. he said i could save myself a couple hundred if i did the tear down myself but i don't know what i'm doing and the last thing i want right now is to jack something else up.
  22. ok, well i finally got a chance to do the compression test on my bike and guess what. the left side only pumps up to just below 90lbs. but the right side goes straight up to 120lbs. so what could it be. and is that why it just won't start and has a hard time starting. any price guesses as to what this will cost? thanks
  23. thank you for all the replies. the choke tube definitely wasn't on there. so i put it on there and was hoping it would have solved my problem so i took it out yesterday for my birthday, but now couldn't get the dang thing started period. so i didn't even get to ride it. needless to say it wasn't a very good birthday. i haven't had time to mess with it yet. but i was going to check the spark plugs. someone has told me it could be that too. but once i take the spark plugs out, how do i check to see if they are sparking? i also picked up some carb cleaner yesterday to do that. and i also picked up a compression tester to check that. so how far do i break down the carbs to clean them. and if i do all this and i end up having low compression and have to get a rebuild, how much are we talking for that?
  24. thanks for the reply, makes sense to me now. i picked up some vacuum hose to day so i will see if it helps.
  25. well if it's like you said, supposed to be on the exact opposinte side of the choke and going over to the 2nd carb, then no it's not there. so if i get a vaccum hose on there, what purpose will that serve? when i pull the choke out what exactley does that do? hopefully that will solve some of my problem, i do need to still clean the carbs but just haven't had the time. thanks for the input.
