  1. I recently purchased a set of Herr jug ported cylinders, everything arrived as discribed and on time. Thanks so much for being an honest and upfront guy! Cant wait to get them on and see how they rip
  2. Thanks for all your info, I will try to get the exhaust port measurements on Saturday. Hopefully this will shed some additional light on my dimness. Thanks once again!
  3. So if im understanding you correctly, if I have the transfer windows raised, it will smooth out the power delivery, and decrease the higher rpm hit? Thus, making the bike more trial friendly, and less likely to be so dogish in the lower rpm range.
  4. I typically trail ride, along with some recreational drag. The bike currently has a milled stock head, t-5 pipes, v-3 reeds, 28pwks, and this so called stage three racelogic port job. I know that there has been no work done to the transfers. I spoke to the guys at Racelogic, and all they said to do was to raise the transfer windows 1mm. The bike is due for an overbore, and I am seriously considering sending the jugs off to have the portwork redone, attempting to optimize my setup at this time. I am open to suggestions as to who to send them to, my fear is that whoever did the porting may have messed it up some how. Thanks for any and all your advise
  5. I have a set of jugs which have the stage 3 prologic race porting done on them. My question is what effects does raising the transfer ports do to the overall power band? Will it bring in the power band lower, higher, or does it just widen the overall rpm range? The transfer windows have not been touched as of this time, and racelogic recommends raising them 1mm. Thanks for you help in advance.
  6. I wish I had an answer for you, I am still trying to find some adjustable uppers to try. Either that or the yfz arms are up for sale. I spend to much time on the oval to have the camber that far off. I love the ride, but the high speed turns get very tiresome. I will keep you posted as the project progresses.
  7. Let me know if you end up with some fee time I could bring over a shock, or what ever to figure this out. Yes I was at Southfork, the dirt oval was very rough and dusty last weekend.
  8. If you happen to have a few minutes to spare I would love to give your uppers a shot, just to see if they clear the 450 shocks.
  9. I seem to be the only one that is unhappy with my yfz450 front end conversion. Over the weekend I was running the shee on the local dirt oval, the large amount of camber causes the high speed turning to become real tiresome. Has anyone found a cure for this. I am running banshee spindles. I was wondering if anyone has tried any type of adjustable upper controll arms to attempt to correct the camber issues, or am I just gonna be better to sell the yfz arms and buy a different set of arms all together. Thanks Troy
  10. I have not heard of any tracks in or near central Il. The closest I have heard of was in Wentzville Mo. That track is approximately 3plus hours away. I along with several others I ride with would love to find a closer track.
  11. i think the only difference i have come across with YFZ front suspension is the tie rods. i believe they went larger beginning in '07. The 06' tie rods that i bought had a larger diameter. I believe the change began in 06' along with the other 80 some updates that year.
  12. Just wondering if anyone has found a good setting for the preload adjuster? I started all the way down and am working my way back up. At the bottom you max out the suspension travel fully extended, and it is mighty stiff. Let me know where you guys like them. Thanks
  13. Hey guys just finished my swap, however I used the 06' yfz a arms and tie rods. The only differance I found was that the 06 Tie rods are heavier duty. They are 12mm not 10mm like all the older yamahas. This is one of the 80 some upgrades that yamaha did to the yfz in 06. Hopefully, this will help anyone that is trying this swap with newer parts. Make sure that you either order new 06 ends or you get the ones with the tie rods, when you buy them. Great write up Mullet, when your in town some time we will have to get together to go riding.
  14. If you have a tall 11 yr old the the lt-80 will make her feel like a giant. The lt's make awsome power stock, however they are very narrow, and short. I bought my 10yr old son and 8yr old daughter an 06 pred. and they both love it, minus the fact that my son is starving for some more power. We have an lt-80, trx 90, and multiple polaris 90's in the family, and if I were to do it again I would either buy the new trx with electric start or the polaris. As far a stock format, all of the mini quads are pretty close in performace, however the polaris has the best suspension. Plus there is a pretty good backing for aftermarket parts that really make them rip. You just have to figure out if you are gonna leave it stock or mod the hell out of it like the rest of us on the HQ.
