  1. I would do it if I knew how to The plugs were black and oily when I took them out. Hi Neil, this is the problem mate it was bought from Clocker! say no more, he isn't sure what jets it has in it, but would too much/not enough fuel mean a smokey bike?
  2. The bike was manufactured Nov 2004 are you serious?
  3. Thanks for all your help guys, I replaced the plugs and it seems a lot better, however, she is smoking really bad, since purchasing I have used 2 full tanks of fuel with a mixture of approx 40:1 but she is still smoking really bad. On starting the smoke pours out the back and after idling for 5 mins calms down a little, by giving her throttle it starts to poor out the back again. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be, do you think there is something serious wrong? Thanks very much for your help.
  4. OK, I'll sort that out tommorow when I empty the tank. So if I was to add 10 litres of fuel how much oil would I mix in with that
  5. Are the TORS the black things that sit on top, if so yes, I had to buy some new ones at great expense.
  6. Hi, I actually didn't do the change, a quad shop did it for me but the problem was there after I picked it up, so I can only assume they have or maybe they haven't, could you please advise how I go about doing this please. Thank you
  7. Hi guys I wonder if you may be able to help me, I recently purchase my Banshee which had a twist grip fitted, I then purchased a stock thumb thottle and all the parts required from Yamaha to turn it back to how it was stock. The bike kicks over on first kick but it is very groggy on acceleration at bottom end, a bit like budbudbudbudbud and then it kicks in and flys. I had this problem all last week when I rode her but got used to it, today I started her up to make sure she was ok for my day out tommorow and on first kick she backfired twice (scared the shit out of me) and now the right hand side exhaust has no power (compression I think you call it) the left exhaust is OK. I have tried tweeking the little silver thumb turns on top of the things that sit on top of the carbs but on the right one it makes no difference. I have checked the spark plugs and they are both covered in oil, when I bought the bike I emptied the petrol that was in there and put fresh in with a mix of about 22:1 the bike has only had this one full tank since I bought it. I was told by the person I bought it from that they rejetted when they put the FMF Fattys on and went up to about 260, I live in the UK if this makes any difference. I really would like to fix this today as I would like to ride tommorow but only 1 exhaust seems to be doing anything. Is there anything I can do to try and fix this, I am unable to rejet as I do not have any, perhaps I could get some new plugs or make changes anywhere else. Thanks for you help guys, I appreciate it.
