  1. I'm running 45:1 100% synthetic 2-stroke oil in my Banshee and the left side puts out more smoke and gives a blacker, wetter spark plug than the right. The right side exhaust puts out little smoke and the spark plug is a dry brown. I don't want to foul plugs, but I don't want to lock up a piston, either. Can I change the air/fuel mixture individually on the right and left sides or do they need to be the same? Thanks, -Mark
  2. One more thing: Fuel is 45:1 of 100% synthetic oil. Basically: can the air/fuel mixture screws be changed individually to allow both carbs to put out the same puffs of smoke? And, will it be harmful to the machine overall?
  3. To all out there: Is it possible to have 2 different settings for the air/fuel mixture screw on each carb (Mikuni racing, I believe)? The problem is that I have been fouling plugs, and one side has been wetter than the other. First off, here's what I have been told. The optimal setting is to turn the air/fuel screw all the way in first, and then out 3.75 turns. 4 is richer with fuel, 3 is leaner. I set both to 3.25 turns out because I was having very wet spark plugs, and then I rode it for a while. BTW, the pistons have been bored 40 over. Here's my dilemma: Left side plug: wet and black after riding, more smoke comes out the left pipe Right side plug: nice color of brown, very little smoke out the right pipe I had no problem riding for an hour or so. Now I want to know if I can adjust the air/fuel mixture independently of each other so that I 1) don't foul plugs on one hand and 2) don't lock up a piston on the other. I guess that I would adjust the wetter side lower to around 3 turns outward and the right dryer side out to 3.5 turns outward. Does this make sense? I'm new to the game, but very willing to learn, so I'm all ears. Thanks a bunch for your posts in advance, -Mark PS: I know that since the engine had been bored that there could be the possibility that the seals/gaskets have a leak in them. Nonetheless, I'm looking to finish riding (not hard riding) in a month and a half, and then tear the top end down.
  4. Yes he did ... and here are my dumb questions FMF pipes Mikunicarbs 29mm what are carbs Pistons 0030" over Advanced timing key what does this do Milled Head FMF Reeds what are reeds K&N air filters 16 tooth front sprocket Thanks for the sites! -Mark
  5. I'm new to the site, just having purchased a 2002 Banshee from a guy who raced it hard. Therefore, it needs a few tune ups and replacement parts. I'm a beginner rider and don't want any expensive or mind-blowing parts, just simple replacement parts to fix the machine with. Could someone out there please reply with a few websites that are: 1) easy to navigate 2) good prices 3) something with pictures so I can see what I'm about to buy 4) parts that are simple, i.e. they don't necessarily need to be very fancy or tricked out For example, someone in another forum mentioned motosport.com- are there any like this with just a ton of products and pics to choose from? By the way, I tested it in a parking lot before I bought it, had my friend try it out also, and he said he said he screamed like a little girl for all the speed that it had. I'm sure I'm going to love the Banshee and the sport in general. Thanks to whomever put together this website- it's filled with a lot of goodies. -Mark
