  1. I have recently cleaned the carbs out entirely, bowls and everything. The carbs appear to be in sync and the air filter is clean. I also checked the choke tube. Its there. This thing has been having the same problem for about a year now. Once you get it warmed up it is OK and will idle all day. I don't know what the heck the deal is
  2. My banshee has a strange problem when I first start it up. It will start fine and run OK for a few seconds, then it bogs down and dies. This happens with or without the choke on. You can rev it up and hold it there, but it will slowly bog down and die. If you goose the throttle repeatedly for a while or take off and ride it hard for a couple of minutes, it settles down and idles fine. Only does it when you start it cold. I have a 99 shee with the cut air box, TORS disconnected, and FMF Fatties with FMF silencers. Otherwise stock. This was happening before I disconnected the TORS unit. I also just rebuilt the top end, but it was doing the same thing before the rebuild. Any ideas????? Thanks.
  3. I have taken the left carb off and disassembled it twice. I blew carb cleaner and compressed air through every hole I can find. When I put it back together, it leaks fuel out of the hole at the bottom of the bore on the incoming side of the carb. It does it off and on. Is the needle and seat connected to the float leaking? What else would cause it to leak fuel there? Thanks.
  4. I will take the carbs completely apart and see what that does. The carb on the left side has been leaking, sometimes out of the drain tube at the bottom and sometimes out of a hole in the carb bore on the bottom at the air filter side. It does it on and off. I will take the whole sucker apart and see what happens. Thanks for the advice.
  5. Yeah, the choke tube is on. I did take them apart one at a time. I just pulled the bowl off, took the needle out to clean in there good, and then blew compressed air through everything. I didn't take it apart any further than the bowl, float, and needle.
  6. Howdy: I have a 99 shee with only an air filter for a mod. My throttle cable was torn up and carbs were sandy inside, so I took it all apart and cleaned it up good. Cleaned the carbs and needle out real good too. Replaced the throttle cable. Now the carbs appear to be sync'd and the slides move smooth as glass ....BUT. When I start it, it will run fine for a few seconds, then surge up, then slowly bog down and die. This happens at idle, or in any throttle position when I leave the throttle at a constant setting. If I hit the throttle a little, it will rev back up, but then if I leave the throttle at a constant setting it will surge, then bog down again. It surges for about 5 seconds and then takes about 5 seconds to bog down and die. WTF????? Thanks for any input.
