  1. ClimbAnyHill & BHQ Listerine-es, Great thread y'all ! I have the exact same model that I picked up almost exactly the same way. Dude who has catfish farms around here buys the '02 for use when feeding fish, checking oxygen levels, running up and down the turn-rows on his farm. Figures out this is NOT what he needs and goes back to the Yamaha shop and they won't give him a trade. He goes and buys a 4-wd Honda something, fish get some disease, he goes bankrupt in '03. Honda store owner (dickhead) buys Yamaha shop from bigger dickhead. Both quads get repossesed. I am in the Honda $tealership buying some Hondabrite for the Ducati (great polish and cleaner) and they unload both of them. Both DH1 & DH2 are pissed and I see an opportunity to capitalize on being at the right place and right time. Only two days before while I was working on the Multistrada, I had decided I was going to buy another sportquad. So, you know the story. Here I am and I've still got her ! Number 689 has been very, very good to me ! I don't race it any more & I am now changing her over to dune/dessert only as I bought a KFX450r for woods, XC, GNCC. Upgrades are well along the way of improvement in the areas of stopping, shifting, comfort, reliability, & of course POWER. Just got another set of Hipers and am about to mount up sand tires. Changed the chain and sprockets yesterday to Krause Racing. Going to get new throttle and clutch mechanisms next. The rest of the mods I'll just need to re-tweak for the sand. Glad to be here ! ! Will post pictures when available. Ride On, Andy
  2. I'm running 23/8/10's on front for "heavy mud trails" and I really like them. Nice size and shape + not to heavy. Traction is much better than stock or Bandit XC's. Not impressed with the rears so I got some Blackwaters. Better shape but heavy.
  3. I've always ordered from a distributor that's hundreds or even thousands of miles away. The reason being is that the price (even including shipping) is cheaper than ANY local retail shop. The last ones that I bought (from Ronnie's) were sold and delivered to me at a cost that was cheaper than the guy who mounted them could buy them. Plus the guy in the brown truck brings them to my door. Very convenient !
  4. I have two sets : ITP Holeshot 20/11/9 XCs - Great for hard packed and dry to moderate trails plus they're 6 plys and really immune to puncture. Also I match them with Pure Sport's Bandit XC's on the front. The other combo I run are ITP23/8/10 Mudlites on the front and ITP 22/12.5/9 Blackwaters for the rear. They are heavy and a little larger than other tires that are offered but they work GREAT !
