YamahaBanshee2K5 replied to blindrider_2001's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
BETTER YET GUYYS I HAVE A 2005 THAT I CAN GUARANTEE IS IN BETTER SHAPE THAN HIS FOR $3700. ALL STOCK, BLUE. IM THE GUY WHO IS SERIOUSLY TRYING TO MAKE A DEAL AND SELL A QUAD. ANY TAKERS?? -
Why trespass on private property??? are you serious. Where do you ride on your front lawn??? I am assuming you ride at a legal "pay as you go" track that is down the road from your house right? Where do you live pleasantville! Well, not all of us are that lucky to live in a town were that is perfectly set up. Give the guy a break, he has a legitimate complaint that is getting more serious every day. I wish people would think a little more and look at the situation from another locations perspective before posting B.S. replies. Im sure they are cracking down (like in my area) because there are too many cops and not enough for them to do.

Getting a little out of control in my area
YamahaBanshee2K5 replied to YamahaBanshee2K5's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Im glad someone understands what I posted. You hit the nail on the head bro. I live in Setauket, Ive been riding in this area for about 10 years now and it has NEVER been this bad. Even up to two years back it was rare to see a cop and if you did he would ask you to "turn it off and walk it home". Now the sh*t is really hitting the fan, I mean honestly, how much tax payers money will suffolk county waste on B.S. like ATV task forces. What a F'ing joke. I have friends who have been paying registration fees for years, and not a dime has gone to a legal area to ride. -

I guess things are a little more laxed on the west coast, its hitting the fan over here. Running or not your getting hit hard with $$$. I have good friends who take your motto. And from experiences Ive had, you have a good chance of getting away if you know how to ride. -

Yo, you mean to tell me that if a few cops are chasing you and apon catching you they will right you up to $1000 in tickets your just gonna stand there like a chump and take it. Honestly I dont know anyone who will do something like that. How are you going to say laws are laws, when they are STRICTLY enforced in one state and NOT enforced in another. To me its not a law, its bullsh*t. I understand where you are coming from, "you lay in your bed, you make it" policy, but dont tell me that someone getting killed being chased or ambused by the cops would not be media hysteria and become a big problem. -

I wish things were like that here, im really jealous of your situation bro. It would be nice to pass a cop and not have to worry about being chased and having an escape route home. -

My thoughts exactly, Suffolk County Cops have absolutely nothing better to do, It just a matter of time before some guy hits a tree and kills himself because of a sh*thead cop chasing him. Thats what it going to come to real soon over here. -
I live on Long Island NY, on the north shore about middle of the island. Each week that goes by Ive been hearing more and more about cops cracking down on riding on the island. Task forces are being put together to stop ATV riding in all locations. This weekend I was driving my car down a road that runs parallel to these power line trails that everyone rides in. I noticed a cop car, a police truck with trailer, and two cops riding quads into the trail to set up sting operation. Is it just me or is this getting a little bit ridiculous where suffolk county cops (who are one of the highest paid police departments, while the "real cops" in the city are getting paid nothing) are wasting tax dollars to bust guys enjoying there toys. I was so close to pulling along side the cops on quads in my car and telling them how much of a joke they are. Its almost not worth me having my 05 banshee anymore if this sh*t is gonig to go down every weekend. On Long Island there are NO designated "legal" places to ride. Why allow dealers to sell ATV's on the Island if there is absolutely NO place to "leagally" ride. Is it just me or is this Police ATV task force Bull Sh*t gotten way, way to out of control?

A Few questions (beginner banshee rider)
YamahaBanshee2K5 replied to YamahaBanshee2K5's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I just started running 32:1 oil/gas mix, I was running 24:1 the first 2-3 tanks. I guess I just have to get on it and beat it up for a while. Thanks all !! -
I just bought an 05 brand new banshee and I was wondering if this is normal: As I start the bike from a cold start. I pull the choke out 1 click and kick the bike over. It starts fine but then after about 20 seconds it stalls. I have to continuosly give the bike steady throttle at low rpm for a minute, close the choke, and the bike is warm and idles fine with no throttle. Is it normal to have to give the bike gas (throttle) to get it to warm up? Or should I be able to warm the bike up with no throttle? If so what can I do to fix this? Second question: What tranny oil is best? And is 1.6 quarts the right amount? Thank you

General parts questions
YamahaBanshee2K5 replied to YamahaBanshee2K5's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate all the info. -
I just bought a 05 banshee and havent really gotten on it much since Ive had it. I have a few questions that if anyone has answers I would appreciate it. I am looking for a good internet site that has a good selection of products (OEM parts, oils, spark plugs, aftermarket items). How long before I should change my transmission oil. Someone told me that after the first 10 rides or so its a good idea. True, false? How long does the factory clutch last under normal riding? Thanks!
