thats me!! lol...we always stay up all night and ride until its day light...i never expect to get much sleep when i go to the dunes...but it seems like on the big weekends a crap load of people stay up and ride allllllllllll night long!! just the thing to do i guess on a side note....159 days until snakehunt

i remember whenever i was in high school.....i was a freakin speed demon... i got pulled over several times and somehow managed to get away with no speeding tickets...including a warning for an 86 in a 55 I finally got my first speeding ticket last summer from a state trooper...70 in a 55...now i work with that trooper and will never let him live down the fact that he wrote me that ticket...but its all a joke bc i deserved the ticket...they post the speed limits for a reason.. but i can say since i've started working at the sheriffs dept. i've only been pulled over twice...i've slowed down a lot ...dont really want to push my luck....i think the 2 warnings i've gotten is enough...3rd times a charm right..

it happened friday between 12:30 and 1 o'clock...on waynoka.com there are some posts about it...apparently a member over there saw it all happen... i had heard that he died on impact...but one of my friends that was there when it happened told me otherwise..

A member of our riding group was killed at LS this Friday. Obviously I wasn't there so I don't know exactly what happened. According to the newspaper article, the incident happened around 1 pm on Friday. He was riding over a 65 foot high dune and apparently didnt know about the drop off on the other side. He flew off the banshee head first, suffering serious head trauma. That's all of the exact info that I have. Of course there are several stories flyiing around as to what happened. Apparently, there was an emergency medical technician who drove over to help him but couldnt revive him. Props to the med tech for trying. Darran was a great guy, and will be greatly missed!! Definately something that will stick in our mind when we ride the dunes from now on. Just thought I would share in case any of you had heard and was curious as to what happen.
