  1. stock carbs are in it someone has changed the needles, im thinking they might be dynojets, by comparing them into the magazines and stuff, it does not appear to come out of the needle jet and stick wide open, i was nevous about it being to lean if it was jetting for the longer needles thanks..
  2. my son and i noticed that the needle was slightly bent, so we ordered a set from babbits, but when we went to replace them with the ones in the carb, they where shorter, stock was 53.63 mm and the ones from the banshee where 58.96 mm, (they did not have any markings/numbers on them), will it be alright to leave the needle jet and use the stock needles from babbits with out hurting the engine, we bought the quad used and not sure what needle/jet where in it, we thought they where stock but they where not, to make it run we have the clip in the first notch, but thought we had better ask before really riding it, any suggestion... thanks....
  3. Where can I purchase just the carb needle (5n7) for a stock carb? And the manual states that the float bowl height is 20-22mm, so if i set it at 24-26mm, this is lowering the amount of fuel in the bowl, correct? Juat making sure that i am reading the manual correctly. Thanks...
  4. can you make reed gaskets out of vanilla folders or by using yamabound 4, or do you have to keep purchasing new gaskets? not trying to be cheap, just curious... thanks...
  5. 2003 banshee, coolhead and new top end, new seals on lower, aftermarket impeller and gear is alright, had same jetting for years, nothing changed but some engine work everthing was fine for a couple of rides, until..... coolant started to overflow out the tube, let it cool down, took off cap and added some more coolant, started the engine, and within 3 seconds, out came the coolant from the radiator neck, a big ole surge of coolant came out, when leaving it to idle, it did this several more times, put new cap on, and all it would do is overflow out the tube, took it home, engine had 5 hours to cool down, added more coolant, and wham-o, same thing, like a big air pocket was in the radiator or something, it spits out evertime you add more coolant, did a search but could not find anyting like this. any idesa... thanks..... ..
  6. reason for rebuild was low compression on right cylinder wall has minor scratch on it, should come out with honing so pro-x are forged and wiseco are are cast? as far as the part numbers, I was looking at magic racing for the wisecos, would have to shop around to find some pro-x, thats why I was wondering if the diameter where app. the same, did not wont to order and have it not work correctly, especially if it needs to be cleaned up a little more than I thought thanks...
  7. are the pro-x and the wiseco the same size in diameter? the piston that was in the banshee has 150 on it, pro-x is 66.5mm, ( I think) but was going to put the same size wiseco in it , would it require a boring or just a honing to get the rings to set? thanks...
  8. here's the low down, '03 shee, ported, cool head w/20cc domes, fmf fattys, delta 2-force reeds w/spacers, needle clip in third, 2-1 air filter, 150-155 compression, jetting 310, new plugs, (plug checks are ok) but it seems to keep running rough, bogging maybe, when giving throttle from 1/4 to 1/2, very noticable when loading on trailer or just driving from one spot to the next, if you give it wide open, like racing, it screams, it used to just have a small bog off the start, but now its realy going weird, have cleaned the carbs, filters, checked all wires that i can trace, checked plug boots and have replace carb boots as well, could it be my reeds and how do you visually check them, they are seated with no rips or tears that i can see, any and all help is deeply appreciated... thanks, and sorry for the small novel i wrote
