  2. thats bad ass. Ford does a much better job than gm when it comes to lettin there customers know they are working for them and performance does matter. I'm not a ford fan, but i'll give them that. Those gt's are some pretty bad ass cars.

  5. The s-10 with vortec 355. This truck was my first paint job. Dupont chromalusion absolute purpleen on the hood(stripes) and a small stripe following the body line all the way around the truck. It needed to be lowered, but i didn't want to spend the money because it was for sale.
  6. here are a few pics of my toys.... the s-10 i traded for the grand national..got some pics of it somewhere. I only had it for 3 months. Got it back, sold it as is and then bought the 87 turbo-t in chicago. still have it and the camaro. All of these cars were built by me.(but of course i have no clue what i'm talking about ) The camaro has a full forged set-up..383, afr heads, plenty of other stuff. The regal has a list a mile long of little mods. Only internal engine mods are lt1 valve springs and a comp custom grind cam. Havent ran the camaro at the strip yet. Regal knocks down 11.0's at 119 on a regular basis with 110 and 26-27lbs of boost. I could run more boost and get some 10's, but i'm just not ready for a roll cage. the 87 turbo-t regal
  7. Pretty sure i read about it in one of the ford magazines. fast fords or some chit like that. My s-10 put down about 450 or so with a vortec 355. It was a handlful to drive. I traded it for the grand national about 3 years ago. I didn't have huge tires like the ranger did. I had a set of torq thrusts with 245/40/17 tires. It would just anihilate those. It almost wasn't even fun after awhile. But if i would have put better tires and a drag radial or something like that, it would have hooked up a little better. That is, if the rear end would hold up. I doubt it.

  10. you are also talking about two different motors. one a single cam and one a dual overhead cam. i believe the 4.6 is a dual overhead cam engine(in the cobras) thats a big difference in the single overhead 5.4 thats in the lightnings. Single cam engines are cheaper and easier to build big power out of IMO....
  11. i'm not even going to start in on the 305's. Those motors aren't the best either. Technology wise, the 4.6 is a better motor. And probably has more power potential.

  13. Has anyone tested these pipes? I have t5's..I want to swap to cpi's or rockets. IS it even worth the swap. of course i want the most power, but for one or two horsepower, i could probably find it elsewhere the swappin pipes. I have heard nothing but good things about both pipes. Who here has swapped from t5's to rockets? t-5's to cpi's? or even cpi's to rockets? thanks guys
  14. i'm not really all about vettes. I personally wouldn't want one. I was talking about the power plant. Its not just in vettes. I was referring to the ls1/ls2/ls6 motors. All pretty much the same. Someone said the 4.6 had some balls. I don't think it does, thats my opinion. The gt-40's are bad ass. Gm needs to step up with something like that, but you'll probably never see it. anything that ways next to nothing, handles like a dream, and has 500hp..is impressive to me. But, That is a far cry from the 4.6 in the crown vic. I guarantee you the gt-40 has some SERIOUS tuning to get 500 hp. everyone has there own opinion about whats fast and what isn't. A ricer with a 4cyl..say 160 hp...whatever they get out of those f'in things, thinks he's fast. John force probably thinks a 9 sec car is a turd.
  15. that sucks bro, i'll keep a lookout down my way. I'm in kc all the time too. Good story that may give you some hope.... Last year a dirty, low down, trashy group of guys(family), thought they would be cute and steal a bunch of quads. They stole about 10 400ex's a couple raptors and few banshee's. One place where we ride pretty often, they tried to steal from. Tried to cut the locks off his trailer doors and get his raptors etc out. He met them outside with a shotgun and they got away. Lucky he heard anything to say the least. Well, last week, they showed up to his HOUSE to ride(probably stolen quads). They kinda hung low, but everyone knew who they were. The owner came out, raised some hell. Cut all of there tires so they couldn't get away. Needless to say, they got the beatdown of a lifetime. Not too long ago, they found all of those quads in a pond south of where they were all stolen. When the heat got on em, they just dumped em. A lot of good machines trashed because of 4or 5 peoples stupidity. anyway, good luck man
  16. not just vettes...cadillac cts-v's..camaro have the LS1 motors. Basically the same motor from the vettes to the camaros. Cam, intake and heads makes an ls6..which jumps from like 325 horse up to 450. IMO the LS1 is a very impressive motor, but it has nothing to do with what he asked. The 4.6 is a turd imo. take it or leave it.
  17. I use klotz techniplate. Smells great..especially with race gas. Performs good too.
  18. 500 hp is cool out of that motor. But with a blower. This guy is buyin a crown vic, with no blower. 4.6 with no blower =turd with no motor work. Saleens are impressive. But show me a saleen mustang that puts down 900+ horsepower, Is driveable on the street, can put down 9 second passes at the strip, and then drive home. Not many i'm sure.
  19. 450 hp TUNED is still not impressive to me. a ls6 zo6 pushes more than that with an aftermarket exhaust. No need to get in a dick swingin contest about this. We could go on all day. I'm just saying, they are by no means a ballsy motor(4.6) lingenfelter builds some crazy shit(used to, i believe he passed away). 900hp plus twin turbo vettes, insane Gimme a blower like the whats on the cobra on a ls1 camaro, and i'm pushing 500hp+ easy. Impressive to me. And chances are, i'm still cheaper.
  20. lol... did you even read what you quoted. 390Hp is NOT impressive with a blower. Gimme a break. new vettes knock down 400 at the motor..ALL MOTOR Also, the 4.6 doesn't hold a candle to the older 5.0 either. But, its just my opinion, think what you want.
  21. craftsman tools are the shit. Snap on..you pay for a name and convenience. Same with others like mac. If you can afford to not have the tool for a day or whenever you can get back to the store, craftsman is the way to go IMO But, snap on, from what i hear, will finance anyone and they are very convenient, but the prices are outrageous.
  22. the 4.6 is a f'in joke in the power department. IMO the 5.4 is definitely a better motor. However, I don't and probably never will own a ford so..take my opinion however you want.
