  1. The one that the pressure plate bolts to; The piece thtat sits in the basket.
  2. I need a complete stock clutch assembly, preferrably used (but not thrashed), for a 1998 Banshee. The condition of the friction plates is irrelevant as mine are still good and I really only need the hub and the boss.
  3. Alright man, you got yourself a deal, want payment through paypal? You can call e-mail me at my home address and we'll set it up from there, [email protected].
  4. I'm looking for a used clutch basket and hub for a 1998 Banshee, anybody who wants to sell should drop me a line @ [email protected]
  5. Tragically, my 'shee locked-up just after launching into a bowl several weeks back, leaving me in a concussion-induced haze for a couple of days, the haze has subsequently cleared, but the motor is still locked solid, as is the gear shift mechanism. I finally pulled the clutch cover to find that the kick start idler gear(26T) is now only 25 teeth, and the primary drive gear, or whatever the name of the 18T gear that sits behind the clutch basket, is in 2 pieces, one of which was nicely wedged between the shift star and the detent lever. I guess the silver lining here is that due to the fact that I was mid air, there was relatively light load on everything, so it just jammed up and stopped, and of course pitched me nose first into the bowl and the rear wheels never really had a chance to try and turn the tranny and mash everything up inside as all looks good except for the two gears. Idle gear, only about $50, no big deal, but the little 18T gear behind the clutch basket is not available from yamaha except for the complete assembly, which is $240 plus taxes. Anyone have/know where I can get just the gear? Can the gear maybe be welded and then tempered? It came apart really cleanly and has all it's teeth. While I'm asking, can anyone give me info on what I should do to the shift star to avoid hitting false neutrals? I know it's been covered ad nauseum before, but I can't find the string...
  6. Hmm, that's what I feared, though I was hoping for a easy, "oh, it's just this little bolt that always becomes loose on the Banshee...", I guess I'll pull the cover sometime this week and have a look, thanks for the time guys.
  7. After trying to restart my bike following a crash, I found that the tranny was locked-up, unable to change gears or get neutral. On top of that, the kick starter isn't catching anything, can't even start it. Before I open it up, anyone hazzard a guess as to what went wrong?
