  3. fixed!! thank you for all your help. so i have spark now!! the problem was one of the previous owners had removed the main key switch and hadnt fixed the wires together well. so i cut the wires new and bell caped them. and way to go me!! it sparked very well on a weak kick. i put my clean carbs back on and everything and kicked it over and it started up on the first kick!! however it still dosent idel very well once warm. should i change one of my jet settings? thank you for all your help. i still have yet to put the tors removal kit on.
  4. i can answer some of the things above. ill answer the rest after i get this all put back together. i bought this used im the third owner. the first owner did all the work. second owner sold it to me really cheap, told me most of the work that was done. fmf fattie pipes gold series & silencers k&n filter reeds look stock. i plan on getting boyseen cages and reeds boost im sorry my main jet is 240. the pilot jet is 25 there was some work done on my engin. the previous owner couldnt remember what size but there is larger pistons in it. im kinda sketchy on changing any of the setting on my carbs because of the engin mods, and my lack of knowledge of what was done. all my jets were really clean. i did the spark test. grounded out the plug on the engine nut i only got one spark out of 7 kicks. i tested the coil with an ohms meter, useing the same steps in my clymers book. i dont have a air box lid. and i also tryed running it wiht out the air filter. float bowls only fit on one way right. cause i cant get it to fit the other way. it worked great last season. other than fouling plugs.
  5. yeah it started but it was very hard to start. and it would die 30 secs later. and if i gave it some gas it would make a deep sound and stall agian. i explained it all before at the top. so i did a float test and it looks that the floats are floating out of the water half way. thanks ill cap the two wires together. do you think the connection was weak and thats why im not getting a strong spark hence the engin stalls due to flooding the weak spark and fouling the plugs? i donno i may just be making up my own theroies here. that might not be it at all tho, i do know that my plugs were wet!
  6. well the main jet is 24 and my parking brake safty was off when i bought it. the carbs looked clean but im curently cleaning them. one at a time. did i have to disconnect all of the wiring from the tor cause i just disconnceted it from the black box. also when i bought it the key was disconnected. the wires cut. i just checked that and those wires were touching but not securly fastened together. my new question is are thouse wires suposto be touching or seperated from each other? also if i let it sit i leaking gas from the over flow tube. yet i checked the float hieght and it measured 22. so thats okay. why else could it be leaking? oh and i do have the tors removial kit. dose anyone have a photo of where i should be drilling at? the distructions i got with the kit are vauge. there wasnt a photo. i would just hate to drill in the wronge place.
  7. im going to have to get back with you on how its jetted. i do know its little rich cause last season it was fouling plugs. tor's the only thing i removed was the wire connector to the harness that is comming from that little black box.

It takes me forever to start. once started it will idel for a min then dies. 30 mins or more later when i get it started agian i feather the the throttle so it wont stall out agian. and i get a really deep sound and it stalls right away. so i thought it was the plugs. removed and replaced and did the spark test. that didnt work out so good. (its possiable i was just tired from kicking it so many times) spark test resluts = sparked once of 7 times. tryed the other side i lost count how many kicks it took to fire. so i disconnected tor's. now im getting no spark. tested coil (that was okay) tested. last effort without turining this into a large project i remove old gas replaced with correct mixture. and repeated tests stated above, recived simmilar results. also my choke was sticking a bit, i sprayd some wd-40 around it, choke seems to be working okay now. has anyone had a simmilar problem? should i be taking off my carbs and cleaning them out? is part of my ignition system starting to fail? should i be checking my stator? i just want to go out and ride. some one help me its spring and my quads in the garage being un-fun. Thank you in advance for any advise or help.
