How does the packing in the silencers affect performance? Will not using any packing hurt the motor? Thanks

Almost forgot, I have a coolhead w/ 20 cc domes.

2000 shee - 30 pilots, needle 2nd pos. from blunt end, 280 mains, prodesign filter, lid on w/o snorkel, tors eliminated, everything else is stock running at sea level. My question is got everything put back together and the right exhaust is completely cold. I checked the compression=120 both cylinders. I don't know what is wrong. Thanks for any help.

I was wondering what the procedure is for checking the compression?

I've never done a plug chop either.

My idle was good, but would bog in first if you didn't give it enough gas. I pulled the motor because it overheated. The plastic gear inside the water pump had melted to the bearing so the impeller wasn't spinning. I am going to replace the bearing and oil seal. I also was thinking of going with the aluminum impeller. I am going to replace all the gaskets and o-rings and switch to #30 pilots. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the lengthy reply.

i bought a used banshee w/ fmf gnarly pipes, coolhead w/ 20cc domes, foam filter w/ outerwear. the needle jet is in the 3rd pos., pilot jet is 25, and main jet is 260. I ride usually right around sea level, also stock lid minus snorkel. should i adjust any of the jets. thanks.
