  1. where is little sahara? ive heard of it but never been there.i usually stay in southern cali close to glamis and gordons but never ventured out to the other sand areas in the US. let me know what city its close to. thanks rich
  2. this is my opinion but the geckos suck. everyone in southern california and the Glamis area hate them. they are the "cheap tire" around here. i run skat traks and they are nice. straight haulers are harder to turn in the sand thats why alot of the duners run the V shaped paddles. i have never seen a drag bike at glamis with V shaped paddles on it. i have been told my paddles thro a good enough roost not to follow too close behind so i guess they are good and i can keep the front end up til i hit thrid gear area. go with the V shaped paddles. rich

    Uni Filter

ok its all a preferance for everyone. i personally have run both uni and K&N on my bike i owned for the desert. i would guess at this but id say close to or over 75% of bike owners in southern california or the ones that go to glmais and other big deserts down here run K&n and i have never heard of a problem. i run a K&N on my banshee right now and the top end is going on its 3rd year without a problem. i ride sand and dirt. the outerwears really help witht he small particles. and i do notice that when i run in a "dustier" area of the desert it does get dirty quick but i ave never once worried about my motor and i have even ran it without cleaning it for a while. i noticed it wasnt performing as good but there was no damage. this is my opinion so no one gets affended or pissed and thats my $.02 rich
  4. i run them in the sand or dirt. doesnt matter. i think the drag banshees dont cuz the dont go hit jump and get air like most on this board that have nerfs. they have saved my ankles a few times and while i watch my friends get their legs caught under their tires doing something stupid i know im safe from that.
  5. there is this place in Az that sells long travel as well. i think its www.atvracing1.com they sell a complete set with custom axis shock (dual rate) for like $1945 or so. i was gonna get them badboys or at least check them out. i want long travel cuz its a great ride and i want to say "I have 13 inches (of travel)How about you?"
  6. actually i found "long travel" from one company alreay i dont know how true the "long travel" is but they advertise 13" travel. so i plan on lookin into this company to see if its what they are saying. banshee long travel look at the bottom of the site page. its all about research boys, the more research the better the product youll come out with and the better the set up will be. if i cant find long travel ill have other ideas and knowledge for a great suspension set up for myself. rich
  7. dude i live and work right near alba and i have race their basic alba package bikes and smoked them each time. this guy was bragging out at glamis and sayin he had the alba package of pipes, air filter, jet kit, and they even dyno tuned it so it was perfect and they even set it up to his weight and i smoked him every time. i havent been impressed with their performance and im around them every time i go out to gordons or glamis. if you dont know shit about bikes and dont want to know then go to them and get their basic package done to the bike and you will be happy. other than that id say find someone else. there is this other place here in southern cali that does a great job i hear. i think its called "yankee performance" but im not sure on the spellin(if its the same) but i had a freind that tried to blow up his 250r and ouldnt because the top end was done so nicely. he was out riding in over 100degree weather and the bike was spewing coolant but it never blew up. id say dont go with alba they are too flashy and cost too much for what you get. id say send the part to a machine shop and get it done then rebuild it yourself that way you know what you got into it. my $.02 rich
  8. ok i got someone else postin on another site asking about if it is possible to put a turbo on a 2-stroke. i replied that it is totally possible and ive seen it but i cant seem to find any sites, links, or pics of a turbo banshee. they are insane when you look at them but id still like to ride one once. thanks for any info rich
  9. i plan to revalve teh shock and extend the axle but that comes next year at the next tax return time. going front first then the back. cant quite afford to do both at the same time. rich
  10. ok all this shit is too funny. i laughing my ass off reading these commets. ok for my bike i have a stock motor/no gear changes... the only mods motor wise is fmf fatty pipes, k&n air filter with outter wears and a modified air lid, and boost bottle(which does nothing) i have a trail tech computer and i ran across the desert on a dry lake bed (flattest natural terrain) with stock tires that comes with the bike and i hit 70mph. im a fat ass and i figured this to be true. i have dialed the trail tech in and it is accurate within 1-2mph. my friend has a gps and it claimed we did 186mph thru the dunes... what the hell am i gonna tell everyone and swear by it i went 186mph? hell no cuz i have common sense. i would like to and will modify my bike so i can run close to 100mph when topped out but i know thats gonna take time and money so ill be patience. rich
  11. OK IM LOOKIN TO UPGRADE MY SUSPENSION COME TAX RETURN TIME. NOW I HAVE READ ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT I WANT LONG TRAVEL OVER STANDARD TRAVEL. MY QUESTION IS TO YOU SUSPENSION GURU'S. DOES THE SAME COMPANIES THAT MAKE STANDARD TRAVEL SUSPENSION MAKE LONG TRAVEL OR DOES ONLY A FEW DO THAT? FROM EVERYONES EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE WHICH COMPANY IS THE BEST FAR AS QUALITY FOR THE PRICE? HOW MUCH MORE AM I LOOKIN AT FOR LONG TRAVEL OVER STANDARD? OK THIS IS WHAT I HAVE NOW THAT I HAVE ASKED THESE QUESTIONS. IVE GOT AN 02' YAMAHA BANSHEE. STOCK SUSPENSION AND MOSTLY STOCK MOTOR(PIPES, AIR FILTER, BOOST BOTTLE THATS IT FOR NOW) IM BUILDING IT FOR RUNNING ACROSS THE DESERT MORE THAN SAND RIDING. I RIDE SAND ABOUT 4 TO 5 TRIPS OUT OF THE YEAR AND THE REST IS DESERT. SO I WANT SOMETHING THATS GONNA HOLD UP TO THE POUNDING OF THE DESERT. NOW THAT I HAVE ASKED THIS QUESTION I HAVE ANOTHER. SHOCKS.... WHICH ONES ARE THE BEST FOR MY SET-UP AND WHAT I WANT TO DO WITHT HE BIKE? I KNOW THAT THE TRIPLE RATE ARE BETTER THAN THE DUAL RATE BUT WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM AND WHAT DOES THE RATES MEAN? I KNOW REZZIES ARE GREAT BUT ARE THEY WORTH WHAT YOU PAY EXTRA FOR THEM? MY GOAL IS TO TRY AND GET THE BEST LONG TRAVEL SET UP FOR MY LIKING AND TO SPEND CLOSE TO $1500 FOR EVERYTHING. NO MORE THAN $2K FOR IT THOUGH. THANKS FOR ANY INFO GIVIN. RICH
  12. i love reading these threads too... its very fun to see two people argue over whos faster, better yet when they are so far apart. ive lost to many dirtbikes but i am a very experienced rider. out in the desert the riders are different than the ones that might ride forest or what not... imnot too sure but all i know is at glamis drags and gordons drags in the sand (no determined distance) all the drag banshees in glamis wont beat most cr250's out there with a proper rider. now i have beaten a dirt bike before and that was mainly cuz he didnt know how to shift his bike in a race and i did. so it all comes down to an old racer saying.... "Put up or Shut up!!!" thats my $.02
  13. i dont blame the 14y/o piece of shit kid... i blame the fuckin parents that let his dumb shithead ass run all over with no supervision. in california its illegal to have your atv ridden on the street.. its probably from dumb shit people like you.... you deserve to get your bike sold and i hope you dont get another one. or at least if you do learn alittle common sense and work for the damn bike. ive have worked for everything i own. yeah im paying off all my debts but at least im paying for them with my own sweat and blood. absolut you are the dumbest person alive... you dont think government officials may not see this. i hope someone tracks your ass down and sues you for everything you own. and on top of that take you bike and sell it for dirt cheap to someone that has been working for their money you lazy ass bastard. ok nuff said
  14. thanks for the offers but i found one locally. all my lights are hooked up and lookin sweet. thanks rich
