  1. Looking to unload my yfz 450 for a Raptor or a DS650.

2005 yfz mint condition. Bone stock with blue hmf pipe and header, tag bars. K&N pro flow.

    flawless, adult owned and maintained.

Open to sell it as well or trade for?

    whats up man,

i have a 2002 banshee im lookin to trade off for a 450...i put a post up yesterday with the mods and condition of my bike...i'd probably rate it a solid 8.5-9/10...has some minor flaws in the paint on the underside of the frame -- i could easily touch it up, and a small blemish on the rear fullbores (the stingertube shifted and made a small melt)...it's mildly built with a fresh motor (maybe 20 hours)...fast and reliable...im in oregon but depending on what your views are im willin to travel a bit...

im lookin for a stock/piped 450 and think my bike would be a good even trade...tell me what you think

    thanks

  2. if at all possible i'd like some input...maybe some advice on some trades and such...

im only trading because my riding style has changed...certain things have come up, and a 4 stroke seems like the best bet...i see a lot of people trading between the two so i would think it was a good trade...

    any feedback is appriciated...

    thanks

    Mike

  3. hey guys,

testin the waters here -- see if i can get any feedback...

i have a silver and black 2002 banshee, clean title, ridden about 10 times every summer since '01...primarily at the oregon coast...i would rate the bike an 8.5/10 due to minor flaws in the paint, and one blemish on the rear fullbores...

    it has:

    rebuilt motor (2004) -- fresh

    rocket inframe drag pipes (original)

    TORS eliminator

    perfect jetting (sea level)

    ported cylinders (fresh hone)

    wiseco pistons (.30 over)

    ported reed cages

    boysen reeds

    shaved head (.30)

    uni 2-1 intake w/ outerwear

    black shockwears

silver fullbores (1" blemish on left side of rear fender, hardly noticable) -- 1 piece race front, drag cut rear

+4" stock swingarm (extended by a metal shop in salem, ore)

    blaster hubs

    22x8x11 dune hopper paddles

    21x10x7 sand shark front tires

    douglas blue label rims

    13 tooth front sprocket

1/4 turn twist throttle (motion pro i believe)

this bike is very fast, and very reliable..no problems what so ever...im looking for a straight trade for a yzf450 or a honda 450r...any offer is considered...

    thanks

  4. Before you buy rockets, I'd let the new owner prove themselves first.

I'd take Shearers over Rockets hands down, any day of the week. Better fit and design...period.

Also...If you don't have a ported motor don't waste your money...

My stock motor'd 96 with just bolt ons ran better with my T5s than the rockets....

my motor is ported/polished...has some other amounts of work done as well -- nothing fancy...i ran t5's and wanted more top end -- went to small bore outta frame cpi's -- which ran GREAT and had to get rid of them because i lost my duning ability -- i traded for the cpi inframes (big bore) and they didnt run right (only thing i can think of is lack of motor)...so i'd be trading my CPI inframes straight across for some small bore rockets...from what i gather rockets are as comparible as CPI's when it comes to performance -- which is really what im looking for...

  5. i should have read down a couple posts before i started my own thread...i was worked up on not finding shit through a search lol...but i'll probably be going with rockets -- from what i understand they are hard to come by and they're are a pretty damn good pipe...i mostly dune and drag so i was in the same dillema as the person who started this post...

i found a guy here in my home city w/ some rockets and i'll probably be trading him some big bore cpi's (they dont run on my bike -- lack of motor lol)

    just my $.02

  6. hey guys,

i've been searchin for some info about these pipes but cant get what im lookin for...

i have a set of big bore CPI inframes and someone offered to trade me straight across for some small bore rockets...im not familiar with the rocket pipe...i've only read about 3 posts saying they suck...and 3 posts saying they are good pipes...so im stuck between a rock and a hard place...im lookin to switch to a small bore drag pipe (cpi or shearer were in mind)...i'm ported, bored over, and geared down -- i only ride dunes and usually end up drag racing (more than 300')...wondering what ya'll thought...i'd like to hear some honest opinions about these pipes...and if someone has some inframe CPI's (small bore) i'd be down for an even trade...let me know -- ya'll are always great w/ info!

  7. how did you end up with the free banshee?a long lost uncle die and leave you his banshee?

    323563[/snapback]

naw my dad traded his sprint car for it about a year ago...sat ever since...he decided that since my '02 was pretty much built..i could start over...so he gave it to me in pieces...

    the transformation has begun..

i still need to strip my fullbores off the '02...no way im givin those up when im making a stronger engine...

anyone know a decent color scheme for the frame...

silver fullbores, trophy blue engine...i need a good matching color for the frame/arms...

  8. hey guys,

    once again it's been a while...been busy bein a college student...blah...

anyways, got my '02 banshee paid off (FINALLY), and inherited a '87 banshee..came w/ a complete bottom end equipped w/ a 6mm stroker and some hot rods...MAJOR potential...anyways the '87 is in haggard shape..it came in pieces...and i have to redo the entire thing...great project bike...

anyone know an estimate hp number for the engine?

    mods:

    CPI inframes (coming REAL soon)

    stock bore

    wiseco prolites

    6mm stroker

    drag port

    boysen reeds

    ported cages

    milled head 30 thou.

    32:1 ratio w/ blenzol

    13 tooth primary

uhh..cant really think of anythign else...the last two dont really have an effect on the numbers...but what the hell lol..

    thanks ahead of time

  9. true, but it could all depend on what site you go to...doesnt have to be Ebay...even just a smaller site that some kid uses as a computer class project or something...

lol problems with this idea...it could really work...but it could really NOT work...could go either way real fast

  10. sorry to bring back an old/dead thread...sounds like a badass deal for a contest...

    i had an idea tho,

why not have a contest to see how many people can get banshee hq listed on other sites...

proof will simply be a working link to another site and an active banner...

whoever gets banshee hq listed on the most sites wins...

this will not only get the name out there even more...but it will get more people drawn to this site...possibly even some brother-sites...

lol again sorry to bring back an old thread, im still catchin up on this stuff ;)

  11. wow...lots of good replies...

i've been up to absolutely nothing working at blockbuster and getting my jetta in running order, my dad did me a HUGE favor and paid off my '02 banshee (the one w/ silver fullbores in my avatar) but in turn, he would take the title...

he gave me an '87 banshee tho so im still with the game...im getting a lot of money through the VA to go to school, and about half of what i get from them is going to the bike...it should be back up and running before next summer....tell me what you think of the stuff that's already done/plan to do...

    stock bore

    6mm stroker crank

    extensive port/polish

    boysen reeds

    milled head (.060)

    ported reed cages

    hinson race clutch

    k&n's

    cut/rebent t3's (coming soon hopefully)

    13/42 gearing (i believe it's 42 rear)

    TORS removed (coming soon)

i do believe that is it so far...im having the frame sandblasted and im painting it, as well as the j arms/swingarm...stripping the radiator paint down...lots of other cosmetic stuff...if anyone can think of a kickass paint scheme to go w/ a competition orange engine hit me up...

thanks for the great welcome-back guys!!

  12. yes yes it's been quite a long time...

and my MSN messenger s/n is the same as my email address..

ooh and an update for the bike...i need new rear fenders (full, not cut)...doesnt matter the color, im getting them painted...

my dad is keeping my fullbores :( :( :(

  13. hey strangers!!!

i posted quite a while ago but had to stop due to some shit that went down here at home...but now im back and in the habit...even tho we had some hard times here in oregon...the banshee still lived through it...even tho my dad took over payments and the title is now in his name...that's ok because i still have my '87 project bike....i just got a 6mm stroker crank and i plan to go bigger bore/port and all the goodies my '02 had!!!...

so if anyone knows of some:

Toomey T3's (dont care the finish just as long as they are in good condition)

    coil

seat cover!!! ( mine is ripped pretty haggard )

and i think that's it for now...i can get my banshee back on the sand!!

i missed some of ya'll...and has anyone still heard from Lefty? lol

    catch ya later

  14. i heard it's possible to put the nozzles in where the boost bottle goes...that way it'd mix straight in with the air/fuel and head into the cylinders from the airflow...$360 sounds about in my ball park...is the battery just to power the fuel pump?...and would i need a whole other stator to power up the battery? or is there a way to wire the battery to the stator?...by the way it looks im not looking to have that big of a bottle strapped onto my bike...im just looking for a little bottle to mount to my sub frame (so it could be viewed by all)...

i was thinking about just buying the wiring and all the components then finding myself a small bottle to finish it off...maybe that would be easier and save a couple bucks...

thanks for your info that helps a lot

    Mike

  15. yeah i know man...

just think of it this way...while all these "PROS" are on here typing replys and excersizing their fingers, we're out workin on the bikes makin them faster....so really we're just the lower class on the forums but the upper class on the track!...hahaha oh man if that isnt a pile of shit i dunno what is

  16. if you have toomey silencers or something, im pretty sure you could rig something up where you can just put a piece of steel piping at the end of the silencers so you dont have to drill into the aluminum or the stinger tube itself...run the spark plugs from the bottom and run the wires right along side the frame and up through the plastics to a switch on your handlebars...cover the wires in some wire loom and have some fun!!!

this would be a clean and easy job to do...you just gotta think that when you're not hitting the spark, all that oil and gas will be piling on the plug and you would ruin the plug...granted it burns some off when it's sparking constantly, but when it's got too much gunk on it, it's not gonna burn it off...you would spend more time changing plugs...

  17. hey guys,

im thinkin about buying some NOS for my Dune '02...i was just wondering whats a good price for a used kit...i dont exactly have $600+ to shell out, more so about $300...just wondering if it's hard to hook it up...i'd kinda like to put the fogger into the intake boots so it'll blow in with the fuel and go through the ports...is this a good idea/easy to do?...

if you guys could just come up with any and all positive (or negative) input that'd be awesome

  18. naw this was flat 4 wheels on the ground, i was sitting on it and just lookin around seein if everything was ok...then i realized my primary sprocket was going crazy...i thought it was just the nut and thinking "aw shit better torque that down" but it was my whole sprocket...i could move it backwards maually (forgot to mention that) im just wondering why it was spinning so much...

  19. hey guys,

i have my chain off and i just washed my bike...i started the bike up to let it warm up (havent started it in a while) and my sprocket is going like a mile a minute...i nutted up and reached down to see if i could stop it and i could...but why is this thing going so fast, am i going to have a problem when im parked WITH my chain on?...is it just because of vibrations that spin it, or is it actually engaging...

    thanks a head of time

    Mike
