Good news. The lights don't seem nearly as big once they're mounted. Ok first the pics of the lights mounted. I'm hoping if I do seperate posts that the next pics will go onto the next page. Yeah, yeah...I know my bike is a piece of shit.

You're running a 4.2AH battery right? Ideally you want to charge at C/10 where C=capacity. So for a 4.2AH battery you should charge it at 0.42A. You can exceed this up to about C/5 (0.84A) but you won't get a full charge and battery life will be decreased. This would be a better choice (link). Still isn't ideal at 0.75A but would put you in the range of C/5. Yeah I used my digital rebel for the pics but using the same apature/shutter speed didn't work out so hot. I took the picture of the torches first letting the camera pick the settings (.8 second @ f4.5). I then put those same settings in and tried taking a picture of the HID's - which came out completely overexposed. As to the guy asking where you can get these. Contact TrailTech at www.trailtech.net. These lights aren't actually in production yet, we got some pre-production models to test out. Last I heard the waiting list was backed up to January.

At idle your bike isn't going to be making enough juice so you're going to be running off the battery. If your battery is low then one of em is going to shut off, the first one being the one with the highest resistance. That's why the same light will always turn off first. I finally installed mine tonight and after about 10 minutes of tinkering and snapping pictures the left one started to click off after about 30 seconds. That pattern continued after that and since I knew the battery was almost dead it wasn't any real surprise. I took a bunch of pics which I'll have to wait until I wake up tomorrow to post. Lets just say that the torchlights were NO COMPARISON!

I've got an oscilliscope here at my work man. Your problem with the lights not running at the same time is identical to what I was having happen to me on Halloween. Its entirely the battery either being too low or too small. What is it anyway? 4.2AH? I just picked up a 7AH for my bike, now I'm trying to figure out a good place to mount the box I'm making for it. I've got a small battery charger if you wanna do some more testing on that battery. BTW...are those TrailTechs spot, flood, or both?

I finally decided I am getting some cubs
Wallrat replied to Too Many Toys's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
PM Ratbike0130 or maybe he'll chime in here. He just finished his 7mm cub and was saying that it was almost too much power. Well at least for his +2 swinger anyway. -
Are you running a tach? Cuz if not what's the point in knowing the numbers?

Ding ding ding! We have a winner! Seriously dude. Half the people posting those terrible images are happily married or involved. We've got prolly 4 girls that frequent this site regularly, and none of them are bitching about the testosterone-rich environment. My point is, if you're trying to score points with any of the 4, you're wasting your time. Next time before you post, pull that dildo out of your ass and think about how gay you sound.

I just switched from fatties to t5's myself and am very happy with the change. They come on almost at the same spot but hit a little harder and wind out a bit more. Nice pipes.
-
Hey man you should do something about that fire real quick. Happy B'day!

When I was a kid I bought a CR80 with a dime size hole in the pipe. Had my neighbor weld it up for me and it worked fine.

Hmm...yfz's in the condition of my wife's bike are going for about $6500-ish out here. I'm seriously considering trying to sell it and then giving Blaine the cash.

It all comes down to how much material did your builder remove. There might be enough room or you might be able to do it by running a spacer plate. Contact your builder and see what he says.

I plan on asking my builder as well but was curious if anybody had any insight into this one. I've got a +4 stroker with a mild dune port - far from extreme porting. Along with that I'm running T5's, v force 2's, and clamp on k&n's. Although I haven't gotten my jetting dialed in perfectly yet I'm only on 155 mains at sea level and about 80 degrees. Do you guys think I've got enough room to run a single carb setup? The PWK's go up to 230 on the mains and 80 on the pilots. Basically I wanna hear from anybody with a similar setup, or a stock stroke with some extensive porting done, since I would guess it'd be around the same. Anybody think this would be a problem? I'm just wondering if it'd be impossible to jet due to the larger differences in air flow between lower and higher rpms. Crud I dunno.

Mine just came today and I thought I'd write up some initial impressions on the quality, packaging, size specs, etc. I won't be able to install them until at least tomorrow evening so hopefully I'll have a better review on Wednesday. FYI I am currently running 35w Torchlights on a handlebar mount configuration. The Eclipse's will bolt directly to the torchlight mounts but you might want to consider some for of isolation from vibration if you don't already have it. Shipping - they arrived very well packaged in about 4 business days. Everything was packed tightly so nothing was going to move around inside and scratch up the aluminum. Contents - 2 Eclipse HID's with 12" wire leads, small bag with assorted lugs and terminals, vibration isolating handlebar mount 'wing' (this is recomended by Trail Tech) and mounting hardware, 2 clear silicone lens covers Quality - What can I say? Top notch. I poured over this set looking for scratches, chips, kinks in the wires, everything. I'm happy to report that both lights were flawless as was the wing! If you see anything in the pictures, its either a reflection or a smudge from my finger while I was positioning these things. The only mark I found was on one of the bolt swivels that you use to adjust the light. The edge had a very small mushed area which looked to be caused by a wrench during assembly. Its underneath the light however and not easily noticeable unless you've got your eye a foot away from it. Once mounted I'm sure I won't be able to see it. Impressions - These things are alot bigger than they seemed at the Sand Sports Super Show. They're really the same size but having them in your hand the first time kinda gives you the impression that these things are gonna blind somebody. I took the picture next to the soda can just to illustrate what kind of size I'm talking about here. For their size and very rugged appearance, they're still quite light. Not having a decent scale handy I couldn't accurately say how light but I would venture that you shouldn't have any problems with them wiggling loose while riding. Especially since they came equiped with stainless allens + nyloc nuts - a nice touch in my opinion. I never understood why some manufacturers put out a quality product and then use cheap hardware. Nice to see that TrailTech used quality parts start to finish. On to the pics:

Nice tats! Does the push pull work for that though or do you need to run the single pull cable one?
-
How much for the frame (figure $100 or so for shipping)? Got a title for that?
-
NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!! Grounded are you running dual carbs? Website says it'll work with honda throttle cables but I dunno of any 2 carb hondas - cept maybe in the street world.

Yeah its been doing that off and on all day. Took me all day but I finally got through it all. Classic, just f'n classic. I'm sure you'll be hearing more about this guy as the story has been forwarded to several news agencies, Stern, Leno, and a number of local radio stations. Its also linked on about 100 different forums. At any given time there's about 2000 people actively reading the thread so occassionally their server appears to shut down. -

Me either...I'm on page 30. This is easily the best thread I've ever read on the internet! Quick summary: Guy named Charlie Wenzel is selling some new gears for $100 + $15 shipping Guy named Mike buys em and sends a check for $115 Charlie cashes the check, then changes his thread to say $125 + $15 shipping and asks Mike why he only sent $115 Mike shares the story with the mods/members Flaming ensues. Charlie tells Mike he ain't sending shit and nobody can make him. Charlies address posted Comes out that gears aren't even new - charlie talked about having them installed on other forum Mike demands refund Charlie sends gears from his work website of Charlie's work posted Mike refuses package pics of Charlies parents + biographies posted Charlie sends M.O. Charlies' credit report info posted minus last 4 of social, etc. M.O. recieved Charlies yearbook pictures posted (page 25) Photoshopping begins New term born - becoming a victim of internet fraud is now called "being Wenzeled" Charlie still being a dick. Cell # and truck pic + license plate # posted ...more to come -
Grab the wheels at the top and push/pull to check for worn bushings up front, and stripped splines in the rear. Hard to tell on the rear but never hurts to check. If he's got shock covers, pull em off and pick up/compress the shocks. Look at the air filter, if its dirty as hell this guy probably didn't take very good care of it. Really check the radiator, see how jacked it is. If its one solid block of metal and he never bothered trying to straighten the fins I'd pass. Crawl all around it and look for missing bolts. I'd overlook maybe 1, but more than that I'd pass.

Have you tried playing with the adjustments at all?
