  1. A buddy of mine just came back from the amish country and he brought back this round, fat, almost sausage like thing that i thought was jerky. 2 bites later i was in heaven! I kept burpin that thing up all day, and it tasted GREAT! I loved it, he only had a couple but, they sound exactly like a soupie, best damn thing i have ever tasted (almost)
  2. I let my cousin take my banshee out for 10 minutes he over-revved her, and It shattered my left piston and fried my lower connecting rod bearing. I got my crank rebuilt by TDR tony doukas racing. Best price i could find... splitting the cases is not hard but you'll need an extra set of hands, and most importantly a clymers manual! I was a total noob and my banshee was my very first engine rebuild. I did it all by myself (except for the jugs, I found a local shop to do them for 45 a cylinder) All the rest tho was done at home. Check out this site http://www.thebansheezone.com/Bansheezone/Main.htm its awesome! it will give you a much better idea of what you are looking at. Literally! I hope this helps you, good luck!
  3. Enigine Ice is one of the best mods i have ever made. Creates an actuall temp drop of about 20 degrees in a banshee!!!!! 50 degrees in passenger cars. But 20 degrees is a lot for such a high performance application. Just my .02
  4. The older steel rims are offset the way you want. I Have them on my 97 shee. They make it wider and more stable. they are heavy duty!!!!! and weigh a little more. Doesn't feel like it slows me down just makes it harder to turn at slow speeds. check ebay for older banshee rims/ just my .02
  5. I just rebuilt using a tdr hi-po crank, and vito's power piston's. Shee's run great all day every day, except for "seizing" that one time and a buddy was riding her when it happened. He helped rebuild her, otherwise no one rides the shee! I have '97 fmf signature series pipes, toomey 2:1 intake and rad valves. Dead center on the needle clip, 27.5 pilots, and 300 mains. My air screw is all the way in I am at 720 ft, temp 40-60f, and running amsoil premix at 50:1 with 93 octane. Everything seems ok, the guy who bored my jugs did do them really tight, so I am wondering if i should invest in a new head gasket and check things out? thanks...
  6. I run engine ice, and noticed a big improvement... my .02
  7. All is well, i restarted the break in using dino, and then switched to amsoil 50:1 shee's runnin great thanks all!!!!!
  8. www.bansheesuperstore.com check em' out. TDR (tony doukas racing) i got a High performance ten ball bearing main, trued and welded, fully rebuildable inner webs and hot rods connecting rods crankshaft with THE WORKS for tatatatatat (drum roll) for 350.00 bucks out the door, Best price going for the best stuff around it can handle anyting you throw at it
  9. I rebuilt 2 weeks ago using a stock motor with vito's power piston's. No porting altho i cleaned up the casting flaws and intake ports with my dremel. Everything else is the same as before, and now my banshee SCREAMS!!!!!!!! Its a new power plant so thats part of it but i can tell a Big difference revs much faster. Also its the Super Stock pistons from vito's that are cut on the exhaust side and the Intake side which are known as the poor mans port job, the Power Pistons are only cut on the intake side to accomidate the raised exhaust port on a ported motor. So in my experience the so far the power piston's are worth the cash, next time shee blows up i am gonna port using the sport port template and get some more power pistons...
  10. my buddy took my newly rebuilt banshee out today and he said the engine quit and locked up the back tires in 6th gear WOT. He said the rear tires were frozen and skidding on pavement for about 4 seconds then he dumped the clutch again and got it restarted. I rode it all the rest of the day and shee seemed fine. I have never had a single problem with her since the rebuild, which was last week. Vito's power pistons and TDR crank runs great!!!! sorry for the book i just wanted some opinions on why that could happen or if it could happen at all? before i start buying gaskets and tearing stuff up. could the piston's have seized and then broke free? I let it warm up until the jugs and pipe were hot before he took off, i was thinkin maybe he hit the rear brakes on accident and locked 'em up shutting off the motor? thanks again all....
  11. Temp: 45-60f Alt: 750 ft Mains: 300 Pilots: 27.5 Mods- FmF gold's with some kinda signature on them... 2:1 toomey air box replacement filter system... vito's power piston's... Rad valve's (one leaner on needle) I want to do a plug chop but am not sure if its safe! I just rebuilt the enitre motor top to bottom yesterday, After the break in it will be getting colder so i am thinking of... 340: mains 30: pilots I may just get mains and stay with the pilots for the plug test, it seems to idle slower and better with the choke barely pulled. I adjusted the idle screws untill they were fully seated and the idle has dropped to perfect. I didn't mess with the air screws they are still 2 turns out. I also am switching to amsoil 50:1 on 93 pump gas. this is my first banshee and i rebuilt the freakin thing twice but have yet to jet it right! thanks for the help peace.....
  12. I used the dual pods for about 2 months, and they bit the big one, always leaking around the seals they never seemed to fit quite right. I bought the toomey 2:1 and like the way it fits and if anything i think it flows more air because of the top being opened up. its all on the toomey web site . just my 2c
  13. I just rebuilt my shee, with vito's power piston's and a tdr Hi-Po crank. I have started the break in with amsoil 100:1 premix at about 44:1. I started the enguine and let it idle until hot giving it small blips on the throttle. I let it cool for 4 hours and rode it around the yard nice and easy for five minutes, I only got into the power band in 2nd 3 times. Its cooling right now, and i am about to go out again. only I read a post just now where someone said that you have to break a new engine in using regular old dino oil becasue there is virtually no metal to metal contact with synthetics. Can i safely switch to kawachem for the rest of the breakin at say 32:1 and then go back to amsoil? or should i stick with whats already been run thru? its my first rebuild can somone help out on this one? thanks..............
  14. Traded a 92 kx 500 for a 97 drag banshee, been restoring it back to almost "stock" stuff like brakes, lights, chain guides and skid plates, I let my cousin take her for a "quick" ride and he spun the lower rod bearing and caused mild seizure in the left jug. I am getting the cylinders measured for bore today and getting a SWEET deal on a crank from tdr... But yeah after 13 years of waiting i finally got Me BANSHEE
