I've been playing with my banshee here lately and trying to go to a semi drag bike, almost ready to do it all drag and buy another shee for the trail. Here is my current senario........1998 banshee, bored.30 over, 4 degree key, fmf pipes, carb is jetted properly to the pipe and K & N filter with out lid, reeds, boost bottle (?), and some mild porting and polishing. Running 18/41 sprockets. Problem arrises here, on dirt (with 20 inch shredders in good tread) all I can do is spin, will not hook up at all, on pavement all it does is hook up, hooks way to much, can't keep the front end down in 1,2,3 gear, especially 1 & 2. Second gear take offs sux as well. I'm running a stock swingarm in which I know needs to be changed. Also have been told to run blaster shocks on the front. I currently am running a homemade setup which pushes the shock mount out closer towards the wheels. We just got through doing the engine 2 weeks ago and it is strong as an ox, I mean extremely strong. I am running 100 octane race fuel with yamalube R ( I really like this oil, ran it in all my quads through the years). What swingarm setup should I go with, which gears (sprockets) for the 1/8 mile asphault are best, anyone who might can tell me some good suspension setups would be helpful as well. Any help as a matter of fact! I'm ready to get this quad out and see what I can do ET and speed wise this spring but now I know it suxs b/c of the take offs being so lousy. Thanks guys!
