  1. I'm pretty close with the local dealer and he says last shipment of shee will be half a year of 06's that will come in December of 05 I made him start a list of people who are waiting to get the 06 and put my name on top.
  2. Slightly off the topic, but how do you like those domes, or if anyone else has any like them?? What all did they do for you? j/w
  3. hey sredish, What makes you think 05 is that last year?? not doubting you, just want to know your sources cause I have heard dealers sayin it was the last year for the shee since bout 2000
  4. Speaking of wearing helmets... (keep in mind town of less than 200, everyone knows everyone) Two of my friends where sittin in a bar one night and a cop comes in and says. "We have been getting reports of two trucks racing that match the discription of those two in the parking lot. Now I really don't want to know if was you two or not, but which one of you was wearing the helmet."
  5. Back on a serious note, you guys in the begaining had some good ideas with the lock in the sprocket and baby moniter. Anyway. My friend come home from work one day pissed off and went to take his shee for a ride and it wouldn't roll over. So he tore it down and it found out the horrible truth. Someone took his shee out for a spin, fryed both pistons and snapped one of the rods on a fairly new motor. An't that a b*tch. Anyway, since the topic turned to guns figured I might as well throw this out there. I'm from a hunting family with a 300yd. driveway, we sight our rifles in to hit dead nuts just on the other side of the road, nothins gettin out.
  6. We had a whole group riding together. Basically all banshees and my Friend was on his Blaster. The hit an open section and as you would expect the Banshees where pretty much gone and left him in the dust. Well he was wrokin to keep up, had it wide open across the gravel road when suddenly there was a corner where we had previesly dupped gravel (owner was pissed because we had thrown all the gravel off) anyway he hit the bump and we aren't sure what heppend from here on but we think his front end came about 3 inches off the ground and his backend came up about 3 feet. So he went head on into a 5x5 post with a board nailed to it. He put his arms up to block and ended up having the head of two fencing nails go through his arm. Took awhile for everyone to relize he wasn't comming and by the time they got back to him he was just crawling out of the ditch. His handel bars where bent to the gas tank and there where a few small things like bent foot peg and torn seat. He had full gear on but the post broke his chest protector and still left a pretty decent mark across his ribs. Luckly him and I always where full gear.
  7. the emmision standerds are easy to get around. Two strokes will still be allowed for closed course racing as they say. And for that all you have to do is get a 20 dollar membership to AMA. So really the could jhust start keeping forms for AMA in all the Dealerships and then you have that problem covered. I think
  8. Never crashed the banshee but I have done a number on my Blaster (pre-shee). Whenever I crashed the first thing I did was get to my feet and find the quad. Generally it was more to make damn sure the quad wasn't comeing for her revenge on me and secondary was to get it under control. I would have to asume if I was hurt very bad I won't jump right up and if I couldn't jump up I would just lay there. So look at it however you want, but that is what I do. Also I have never bail off a quad on purpose. Some think that is stupid I just think I haven't learned how to give up on a ride yet.
  9. I sure hope you are wrong on all parts of that it would be nice for it to live many more years and I kinda want it to stay the same, I'm kinda old fashion and I love the look, sound, feal, and everything else about a shee
  10. if you part it out, let me know on the Nerf bars and single carb
  11. just a thought, anyway think this may lead to other things if/when this goes over well. Like maybe reworking the Banshee. Now the Warrior is the second machine in Yamaha's line up to get a complete make over (Blaster a year or two ago) I don't know if I want the Shee to get a make over. And especially not if it is goin to look like the rest of them. All the Machines have the same general apperance and that isn't any fun.
  12. I agree on the name issue that they should have left it the Warrior or at least given it a different name. I amy be alone on this comment, but I think they should have given the YFZ450 a real name too. just for instance, Who knows what a yfs200 is or a yfz350, I would be certain about half this site will recognize those as the Blaster and Banshee but out side of that nobody would. I think it would be much nicer to see real names, that is just me though. Also the specs on the suspension are slightly differant on the Raptor 350 as aposed to the Warrior, not to mention it is lighter, and if the engine is tweaked just a bit it will be kinda interesting to see how much better they actually made it.
  13. Anyone know anything on the new Raptor 350 that is posted on Yamaha's site?? ?Is it suppose to be at pace with the warrior or the Shee and Raptor?? Any insite would be greatly appreciated
  14. just curious, but why take it off? even if you don't use it it isn't really causeing any problems being there. and as far as taking it off, just take it off and see if it starts, if it doesn't put the wires together and try again.
  15. Does anyone know when the 2005 line up are released?? I thought it was about this time this year. There is also speciel interest this year, I heard Yamaha did not provide ATV sport (I think) with a banshee for a shoot out. Interesting.
  16. Alright, I talked to him again today and got a little more information. He says the new quad will have either the 426 or the 450 engine in it. He also says that the banshee being gone is still just a rummor that he recieved from "two reliable sources" and it isn't just a selling ploy, he knows I just baught one a while ago. So think what yea all want, I hope he is wrong
  17. as far as the new machine is concerned, I would bet it won't be a 450, then it would be just missing the 440 class for racers and then they are racin the big dogs. But yes, I about garentee a four-stroke and I guess it would be quite possible for them to stick the 450 bike engine it in, I just think they would stick under the 440 limit
  18. Alright everyone, I got some inside information (good friends with the local dealer) anyways, he says that he has been told officially this is the last year of the Banshee. I know, I know, We have all heard this before, but I think this may actually be the truth. However, he also mentioned that Yamaha is anouncing a new model next month. I think he knows more about it than that, but I couldn't get anymore information out of him. I will keap at him and let yea all know if I find out anymore more information. Anyways, later yea all. and hopefully someone can prove me wrong.
