chapmanmd Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 Does anyone know how to install a Trinity Stage IV timing plate? I just picked up a brand new one in a trade. Will this do much for me? Thanks. Quote

Thanks. 339535 I installed a Ricky Stator last night, took me about half an hour. You might ( i know i did) have to grind down some edges so it fits just right, but thats no big deal. Depending on your mods and how much you advance your timing, that will affect HOW MUCH of a difference you'll feel, but youll definitely notice something! Quote
Ducman Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 You need to take the flywheel off, do a search for tips on removing/ installing the flywheel. Its easy if you have an air or electric impact wrench to get the nut off that holds the flywheel on. Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 A strap wrench to hold it when taking off the nut is beneficial. A flywheel puller is a must. NO EXCEPTIONS Quote
i12gofast Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 Yeah definitely get a flywheel puller. The right tools make the job easier. If you try to use anything else, you may fatigue the metal of the flywheel, which might eventually lead to some serious damage.....and for $15.oo or less its well worth hving around. Quote
ledofthezep Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 I couldn't get a strap wrench to hold mine, so I used a rachet-strap tie down around the flywheel & around the frame behind & above the footpeg, worked like a champ. Another pic for ya... Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 Yepper...I got a set just like the one you have there I'm pretty sure. I just couldn't get it to hold, didn't want to screw with it so i busted out the trusty ratchet-strap! 339599 Oh that Quote
ledofthezep Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 clutch boss holder aka penny in my shop. Quote
chapmanmd Posted March 15, 2005 Author Report Posted March 15, 2005 aka penny in my shop. 339608 You guys are all awesome. Thank you. I do have a flywheel puller and an air impact. Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 aka penny in my shop. 339608 I still use the penny wrapped in a shop towel while torqueing the clutch springs, keeps the clutch from rotating annoyingly. Does that make you feel better? Quote
