mc4mill Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 I'm so confused on what to do! I'm trying to tune my shee, last 3 rides I tinkered on this thing to try to and dial in, To walk away fucking pissed! All the other dudes I ride with are stumped and recomend I take it to a shop to have it dyno tuned. I'm fairly new to working on banshees, But this mod I figuired I could handle. If any body can help I would be gratful. My shee goes like this: 4mm. standard bore, shaved head, 150psi compression, full race port, case matched. +5 timing, T-5w/cascade silencers. 110 oct. race fuel. The mod I'm attempting to do. Remove the 34mm Lectrons and Install 28mm pwks using the same boysen reeds etc. My reasoning for this, I was told it would give my greater low end power, and take away the "light switch" hit. It definetly did that! To my liking, What I'm not able to solve is the 1/4 to 3/4 throttle crackle/ churpyness before the main takes over. I use my shee on the Oregon dunes only. sealevel, 50 to 75deg. pilot jet 48, needle N68A, leaned on top clip. This is where it runs best at. Main 160. I've tried many variations and combinations. Please advise!!! Quote
okbeast Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 You probably thought it was fat when it was running bad in the midrange so you leaned it up right? I would try moving it to the middle or more to the bottom to give it more gas. Those are small carbs to run on a drag port and i would imagine it would want more fuel. Quote

okbeast Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 Did you richen it completely, or just some? I've never heard of that needle, but am not too familiar with the pwk carbs. Hopefully someone will chime in that is. If not, do a search for pwk carbs, or pwk needles, or needle chart. something like that should get you pointed in the right direction. Quote

Yea I started with a jjh needle, was advised to use the N68A by two different sources. Although I never went lower than the middle clip. I gotta tell you, My shee has ligit low end, If I can solve this issue, I'd be jacked! Quote
