ProjectX Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Ok, so I've searched around and so far I don't think I've come across the answer I'm looking for. This is my first shot at actually building a quad and so I want to do this right. I'm in need of some A-Arms but have some questions, I see alot of things as +2+1 as far as A-Arms and I've been a bit confused, so I was wondering if someone could explain it to me a bit. Second, what is going to be a good setup for all around, I want to dune, do some small dragging, some trail riding, etc...what is going to give me the best outcome, should I just pick up some stockers? or should I look at some aftermarket ones, sorry for the noob questions and thanks in advance. ProjectX Posted June 11, 2008 Author Report Posted June 11, 2008 ok, scratch that, I think I just discovered +2 - +1 two inchs wider on both sides and one inch forward, now if someone will explain the purpose to that and what benifits will it have from that. Quote

You are right on that. +1, +2 or whatever will give you a wider stance in the front and longer wheelbase. That is a plus for each side: +1 will give you +2 overall ect. I run mostly trails and such so stockers suit me fine. I think mostly track riders will benefit from the wider stance in the front, IMO. Some guys do it for better A-arm quality. Aftermarket shocks will help you more than an aftermarket A-arm when doin' the riding you do. When buying stock A-arms make sure the ball joints are good, they are not replaceable. Quote
