t1d0 Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 I just ordered a OEM replacement for a leaky petcock. However, the main fuel tube doesn't fit into the tank. I don't know if the reserve tube will fit. The new petcock has a brass tube where as the old has a plastic tube. I was thinking I could just exchange the tube but the new one seems to be pressed in the valve. The part that doesn't is the base of the filter that attaches to the brass tube. 95% of the filter will go inside the tank. Did I get the wrong part even the part number matches the online microflim? I would hate to re-order the same thing. Are there any other options? Quote

Onesickcrewcab Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 It shouldn't take much drilling to make it fit. If you do drill it, blow the shavings out with an air compressor. The petcock has filters on it so I wouldn't worry Quote
sinisterboo Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 A little wheelbearing grease on the drillbit wil hold most of the shavings, just a little tip.... Quote
