jharader Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I put the hd springs in the 97, got it back together. had the girlfriend take it for a ride and she made me take it right back apart wasting the gearsaver lol some serious finger pump as mentioned before the ears are smaller and clank a lil against the basket, personally didnt care on the oem basket though that just gives me a reason to upgrade.. how do the raptors plates compare are the fingers the same width as the oem shee? same for the streetbike clutches? sheefreak Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Using all 6 Toomey springs will make one forearm look like Popeye's! Quote
rubberneck Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 Raptor fiber and steels. I think the Toomey are stiffer, but I don't know to be honest. I use the Barnett HD springs. Right now, I have 3 HD 3 stock. But I also have a 3 + year old FAST clutch that is a little worn...so, I don't know how I'm going to set it up when I get my new clutch components. Here's the part numbers for you: 5Y1-16321-00-00 PLATE,FRICTION 360-16325-00-00 PLATE,CLUTCH (steels) Thanks man. I have the FAST clutch in my cub and and a Cascade clutch in the other bike (which i was told is the same as the fast, dont know) reason i ask is i swear the springs that came with the cascade clutch were stiff as hell and the ends looked like they had been ground on. The clutch i got from jeff had different springs. I only ran 3 of the springs in the cascade clutch, because its a bolt on bike only. For the cub I put all 6 HD's in because im not running a lockup. Jeff felt i would be fine as long as i stick to sand and dont get 2 greedy with the clutch. Time will tell. I may end up putting an override and lockup in eventually anyway. Bike is getting less and less dune and more and more go fast. My buddy needs a clutch, and just for shits and giggles, i am going to price out the stuff above and use the extra 3 springs i have left from the cascade clutch. Quote
