whats up everyone. put an adjustable timing plate on my bros shee. advanced the timing to +2 just to see how it runs. wouldnt start. so i checked the jetting and the pilot was a size 30. he has stock dual carbs. so living in new england the weather is getting nicer, elevation around sea level i had a couple size 25 pilot jets in my tool box. i put them in. the bike did start but would die when i shut the choke off. so i then messed with the air screws on each carb. it started but would die if i shut the choke off or gassed the throttle. i also noticed that the right pipe would backfire and pop alot when i gave it some gas.

im thinking i need to up the pilot jets to a 27.5? now could the back firing be because the carbs are out of sync because i messed with them, or the timning is throwing it off? any advice, anyone run ito this problem?

thanks in advance.

sounds like lean pops. are you sure you advanced it and not retard it by accident? try the bigger pilots like ya said, and put the timing back to stock. to many adjustments at once is the worst thing you can do, and this is why. do one thing at a time. good luck..
