jonnyb Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Well my setup is different reeds, trail port, complete rebuild including top and bottom, 60 thousants off the head, tors removel. Well I did my heat cycles 4 off them, and took her for a test ride not using more than half throttle. At first she's boogy, and the turbo boost hits. Hold the f@ck on! On the low end its boogy like it wants to go but doesn't and then its gone. Should it be more responsive? Set up at the moment from a&s is the air fuel is at all the counter clockwise. 260 jets and I think stock 25 mains? The needle is at its highest position. Idles great, just would like the low end to be a little responsive. Come pro's help a newb out. Quote

Well I only had him do the motor and carbs, he didn't have my quad. The problems I'm having at the moment is sinking the carbs. Which is why I think I'm booging on the low end. The problem is he's gone for the next two weeks. Don't need another builder, but can't get questions answered if he's gone. What bunch of problems are you talking about? Quote
jonnyb Posted May 14, 2008 Author Report Posted May 14, 2008 By the way I did a compression test and I'm at about 130 per cylender, sound right? Quote
dajogejr Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 If he took 60 thou off the head? No.... Quote
jonnyb Posted May 15, 2008 Author Report Posted May 15, 2008 Or anyone, I know I'm needy just help a brother out. Quote
dajogejr Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 Check the squish.... Here's the problem. Dan sets up his motors a certain way. I know he's out of town, and you can't get a hold of him, but to be 100% honest, I'd wait. We could steer you easily in the 180 degree wrong direction compared to what and how he likes to run his setup. If he shaved .060 off, depending on how he cut and chambered the head, 130 PSI sounds low to me. Then again, if he ported the cylinders, depending on how he did them, that could be right. So while I'm strictly guessing, he will KNOW.... To be honest, I'd wait and set it up per his spec. Quote
jonnyb Posted May 15, 2008 Author Report Posted May 15, 2008 Do you think I'm all right to take it to mio this weekend. Quote
