rtcc Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 That sounds, wierd. I cant think of what else to call it. Anyway, I am a pretty big guy and I have always jumped my banshee. I would always bend the shit out of the stock pegs and now I have some blaster pegs on there that are doubled up. Anyway, now the weak link seems to be the socket where the back bolt of my pegs goes into the frame. It now faces down at almost a 45* angle. So even if the peg is not bent it still has a slight rake downward. I am wondering what I would have to do to fix this. Can the threading be pulled out and something new put in its place? Is there any options besides welding? Thanks Terry Quote

[email protected] Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 unscrew the stock two back bolts on foot pegs , drill a hole ( the size of the threading u buy ) , thread a say 2 foot peice ? thru it , so it sticks out on both ends. put lock washeres and bols , WALA..... ez rig/fix i seen it done... ALL HOMEDEPOT materials Quote
inthemail Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 yeap thats the way shes done. really simple. Quote
rtcc Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 oh shit, so ALL the way through!!? So each peg is attached to each other in a way. What would would be the benefits of that compaired to just drilling out the hole like you said and then adding say a 4in bolt with a nut on each side. Instead of the one big althread? I feel like the one long bolt will just get beat to hell under there, cause I ride in some rocky shit. Thanks for the help though, I will look her over today and see what the best approach is! Quote

rtcc Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 Sounds likes it time for some wide pegged nurf bars. LOL yeah I was thinking about that, but I was kinda worried I would just bend those as well! I would be so pissed, but today I went riding with a guy who has the AC pro pegs and they are really damn beefy. I dont think I would bend them at all. I will buy some in the future Im sure. Quote

Yeah thanks man, I went riding today and I looked at it and I see now why you have to do the bar all the way through. Makes perfect sense. I wonder what would happen if I still bent it some???? It would be impossible to get out of there. I will think this all through some more. Thanks for all the help Terry Quote
