I recently had a problem with not getting fire. One problem I found was that the positive wire to the coil didn't have continuity. Replaced the wire, and I would get just a small spark but when I kicked it over a couple of times it lost spark. I switched ignition boxes out with a dyna fs, it has alot of spark (can hear it sparking) so I put the tank back on and tried to start it. It will fire 3-4 times and die, every time I kick it. Giving it gas, choke, nothing seems to make a difference. Any ideas?

Also the bike ran perfect the last time I had it out, the wire must have broke on the trailer ride home, and the dyna fs ignition came off of my brothers before he sold it and it ran fine. Used adjustable timing plate to set the timing back to 0 degrees with no change.

List of mods:

T5s and Jet kit

D&D head (18cc domes)

+5 degree key

No TORS

Normally best to start with the basics.

Might try:

--Put in new spark plugs.Maybe just one fouled out?

--How long has it sat?(bad gas)Should run but would run but would run like junk if the gas was bad but you never know.

--if you're running stock carbs make sure the rubber hose is still connecting the 2 carbs and hasn't fallen out

--might do a compression check

--Could have just flooded it when you was trying to start it.

Might try and pull start it behind another quad but be careful!

I feel a little stupid but my problem was that while taping and water proofing my wires I unhooked the plug going to my key switch and didn't plug it back in (long day, late night mistake). I found this when I was checking spark in both plugs and noticed that my key was turned off. For some reason I was still getting great spark with the dyna fs ignition but my stock ignition didn't spark. Not sure how I was getting spark with the dyna fs but not my stocker and why it would fire 3-4 times then die, but I plugged it back in and it ran just fine.

Thought that I would place an answer to my question so that it may help someone else later.
