06BaNsHeE Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 At the end of the day when im done riding can I just burn off all the fuel in my carbs then drain my tank and run pump gas with premix through it till it bogs than drain all the pump gas out?Im thinking this should work and its easier? BTW their 39 pwks with Billet bowls and Pump and pingel if it matters Quote
theshee Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 If you are purging alky you do NOT want to burn all the alky out of the carbs you want to drain it out, you never want to run your bowls dry on alky, that is a disaster looking for a place to happen... when you are done riding, pull the fuel lines off the carbs and drain all the alky out of the tank. then fill your tank with race gas (mixed with 2 stroke oil duh), start the bike, and putz it around till all the alky is burned out of the bike. You will know when it is burned out, starts to run like ass. Leave the purge fuel in that tank till its time to ride again, pull the lines off the carbs, drain the purge fuel out, refil with alky and you are good to go. Thats all i ever did with the alky bike I had and it worked like a charm. Hope that helps. Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted March 16, 2008 Author Report Posted March 16, 2008 Thanks does it have to be Race Fuel??My builder told me I was perfectly fin purging with Pump gas 93.Let me get this str8 it doesnt matter If theres still alky in the bowls when I go to purge? Quote
theshee Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 If Nate said you were find on 93 im sure you would be OK. I used race gas because I had a shit load of compression on my 10mil. No, it doesnt matter that there is alky in there, it will mix with the race gas as soon as you start purging, burn out and you will be purged. You want to make sure you run the bike on the purge fuel till the motor starts stumbling pretty bad though, that way you know you have all the alky out of the bike. Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted March 16, 2008 Author Report Posted March 16, 2008 Ok sounds Retarded easy lol Quote
theshee Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 It is very easy, just a pain in the ass... The fuel lines get hard as rocks, and you have to change them frequently. Alky just was not the right thing for me I guess. If you need fuel line in any color hit me up, I have lots in stock all the time. Quote

Really it sounds easy tho.Just drain tank of alky put in Gas and run it till it runs like crap right?Well Maybe Ill get annoyed after a while lol.Ill let you know about the fuel lines if I have problems with mine freezing for sure. One more Q for you did you run water or coolant in your shee?Im in miami so its really hot so I dont know which to run with alky Quote
theshee Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 It is easy, dont fret it man. I just hated it because I didnt feel like screwing with it at the end of everyday. I was ready for a beer when i was done riding, didnt feel like getting alky all over me (shit is bad on your skin, you will see!). I have heard many people running water for coolant with alky and being fine. I ran regular coolant and it worked for what i did. Another option would be some redline water wetter, royal purple coolant additive, engine ice (would be a waste imo), or just coolant. Your fuel lines will get hard no matter what, alky just makes them hard as hell.... Have fun man! Sounds like you are going to have a fun bike!! Quote
