RS 200 Watt Stator "Q"s

I have a 200w RS stator but don't think I have the optional regulator in my wiring. Also, I think my lights are wired directly through the handlebar switch.

 

Should I run a relay circuit on the lights because of the Amperage draw? One for high...one for low?

So 200W stators have 2 different "legs?" Are they equal output? Does a stocker only have 1?

 

Is there a "right way" to wire in a 200W stator? My big lights are my "low" beam and the mr16s kick on when I hit the switch to "high"...where all 4 run. The mains dim down a bit when I'm running all four unless I'm in the upper midrange...ultra bright when I'm running only the two big PIAAs.

 

Any help or opinions would be appreciated...

Jay, you either have an old ricky stator or you have one of the electrex or other brands that have 2 separate legs. the new rickys have only 1 leg. I think most guys run through the switch like you, but i didn't want to do that so i bought a couple of switches from trail tech and am wiring them up so i can switch the light independantly. They are the push button style and im going to put them in the tank cover. I wanted to clean up the bars anyway, so i just got a dirt bike kill switch on the bars and then putting the light switches down below. I wasnt sure if you could run a relay on the AC system, so i didn't plan on it, but if you can, then that is what i will do. Does anybody know for sure?? forgot to add, on mine, i bought the rickystator 250watt regulator. on your system, i belive you can just run 2 stockers. i guess you could just run both legs through one regulator, but i dont think the stocker is rated for the higher wattage
