DJ LiL Mike Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 (edited) I got toomey t5's on my 01 banshee. i want to go riding at A.T.V. New York (www.atvny.com) but i need to meet the following requirements: >spark arrestors preferred >85 db's at 200 feet i don't want anything that will kill out all the power from my banshee. do i have to buy a toomey hush kit with spark arrestor to meet 85 db's at 200 feet or less, or can i buy a toomey spark arrestor or some other spark arrestor? all i need to do is have 85 db's or less at 200 feet and wont suck the power from my banshee. Thanks! Edited March 4, 2008 by DJ LiL Mike Quote
Dunatik Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 To be honest, I don't think there's a set of silencers out there that meet 85dB criteria other than stock. Most aftermarket that I know of (Cascade and the Hush Kit) are designed for 93dB limits. 85dB seems really harsh... Quote
shanYE west Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 My T-5's with sparky's rang in at 104db's. With a fresh repack they got 99db. My PT's hit 94db's I'd have to say you might have a hard time gettin in. Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 You're right.. I don't think either setup with bring down the dbs to required level. I've wondered about FMF Silencers with spark arrestors, maybe bolt onto the T5 Stingers? Think their a bit more quiet but remember Banshee's are made to scream! Quote
DJ LiL Mike Posted March 5, 2008 Author Report Posted March 5, 2008 in another topic on bansheehq.com i heard that they lost power from their banshee because of the toomey hush kit. ill call the people one day and check if they can let me off the hook. i was looking at their photo gallery on their website (atvny.com) and on the round track i saw a banshee. i couldn't see if the banshee had stock pipes, aftermarkets, or spark arrestors. the fence was in the way and so where the other atvs. lol i'll most likely post back to give everybody an update. Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 I don't agree you'll loose power with a hush kit but i never ran one. Keep us posted! Quote
