Wildcardracing Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 ok so i have ben looking into long rods can someone explain what they will do the advantages and disadvantages They cause less piston side loading, so your pistons and top end will last longer. You will have to run 795 wiseco pistons on a small bore and blaster pistons on a big bore cylinder. If ur gonna spend the $$ on a new crank, I'd recommend the 4mm stroker +5mm long rod. You'll have to run a spacer plate or have it ported for the stroke and run cut domes. The porting and domes is the best setup for a stroker. Quote
inthemail Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 ^^^ he nailed everything down pretty good. i wouldnt advise the spacer plate either... just another gasket to leak. go with case trenching all the way, theres alot of good builders kickin here. -not to jack the thread but are the 4mm hot rod cranks built with 5mm rods? Fireroad Express Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 why trench the cases on a 4 mil? its not required. Quote
