I tore my engine down for rebuild and upgrades and I'm wondering how and where to measure the piston to determine if it is stock bore or oversize...?

They are factory pistons and have a "G" on the dome. Not sure what the G means, if anything.

My shee is a 2000 and the person I bought it from says it was never tore down (original owner), but you never know.

Thanks in advance.

Nobody knows how to measure a piston...

Just measure the diameter. If its 64mm its stock. Its not hard.

Rock a mic back and forth until you get your widest point, measure it at a few different heights and both sides of the piston (pin to pin, exhaust to intake side)

64mm is stock...but of course a worn piston will read a little under.

they are stock....ive seen pistons with this markings on them before. If they are anything other than stock they will have your G and then also a number above them to tell how much bigger than stock they are...for example ive pulled one apart that had a G on them then abobe the G it said 1.25mm meaning it was bored to 65.25mm
