hollisatp Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 I just chewed up my right piston and need to have my jugs bored and honed and maybe a port job if at the right price.. Anyone know a good shop in my area? Thanks! Also.. what should I look for with my motor? The piston looks bad on top but the cilynder (sp) is not bad.. What about the crank and rods? I have no clue what to check in addition to the obvious... thanks alot! Quote
hollisatp Posted January 14, 2008 Author Report Posted January 14, 2008 (edited) also what aftermarket piston do you guys recomend? and size?? I know stock is 64mm.. Edited January 14, 2008 by hollisatp Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Because my stock bore was gone beyond I couldn't just get a fresh hone at 64mm. After bore & hone it put me at 64.75 & wen't with Wiseco Prolites. Vance & Hines ordered the pistons for me.. forgot the price on those but he charged $60 for each cylinder. It was a convinience to drop off those cylinders and pick up everything together with gasket kit and ready to bolt on. V&H is a reputable company, look it up... They make Harley pipes & stuff like that but also service the offroad world. They don't take new customers but I can call Mike & set it up. Are you sure debris & rings didn't fall down into the crank? If not you might have to split the cases. If that's the case then get the crank welded too. I might have a stock head for you tomorrow! PM member 370Banshee for portwork info.. He's waiting on you. I already told him bout you! Quote
