Snopczynski Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 they didn't make a 34mm pwk. so is it a 34mm pj, or a 35mm pwk? Is 1/4 throttle sluggish as in rich, or hesitant as in lean? Quote
andrew ballard Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 i know what your problem is its the pipes the dgs haha lol buleyyyyyyyy Quote

Snopczynski Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 the needle controls almost everything on those 2 into 1 setups. Off hand it looks like your running the wrong needle, too small of a main jet, and a slightly too large pilot jet. However, you did not post what was done to the bike and where it is riffen. Quote

Snopczynski Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 whats done to the bike, and why type of riding do you do? Quote
sheerider1026 Posted December 27, 2007 Author Report Posted December 27, 2007 stock port, t5's 19cc domes +5 timing, ram valve reeds, K&N, trail riding, open fields, occasional race. Quote
Snopczynski Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 start at 185 main and work your way down for best topend result. Usually I start with an eek or eej needle in middle positon and adjust accordingly. 45 pilot jet and air screw 1.5-2 turns out. If you run a dek and you have a lean hesitation on the bottom end than try a dej needle. if its too rich on the bottom then you go to a del. Quote
sheerider1026 Posted December 27, 2007 Author Report Posted December 27, 2007 hey thanx for the info.. it currently has a dej needle.. i ordered a dek and a eek from carbparts.com this morning... i have heard that the eek is the best to go with and tune from there.. whats your opinion on the eek? It works well in most motors that turn 9500-10,500 rpm. I have one in my friend stroker with ptr mids. I think I currently have a eej in my bike. Quote
sheerider1026 Posted December 27, 2007 Author Report Posted December 27, 2007 right now i have a 35 pilot, dej needle, and a 155 main.. seems like it would be lean as hell but its not.. any clue?? can the needle cause this?? i have a set of 33mm pwks on my cub motor and i run a 148 main, it runs sweet, plugs read perfect on it also.. Snopczynski Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 its probably mostly running off the needle. Take it out, warm it up (ride around a little), and then run it full blast wot for two passes in 5th gear. Then on the 2nd pass shut it off after 4 sec's wot in 5th gear. Pull in the clutch and coast to a stop and pull the left plug and see what the color is. I was running like a 190-195 main for a while and the plugs kept coming out whitish. I figured out the fuel was washing down the plug. I went to a 185 and it started to turn dark brown finally. Quote
