wacko2000 Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 I bent mine in the same spot, along with alot of other guys on this site, The comealong idea doesnt sound to bad, might want to consider making it alittle stronger with some gussets after your done getting it back to normal... good luck.. RoostRocket Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 i used a floor jack put in through the front and jacked it up till it was normal again. you should definetly gusset it afterwards though other wise you will do the same thing, even from normal riding. Quote
wacko2000 Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 My frame is already all reinforced.. just curious. Im allitle confused about the floor jack idea, would like to know how you do it that way, can hurt to know more than one or two ways to get it fixed if it does happen again in the future.... thanks Quote
WALLACE84 Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 if you are going to Pc or paint the frame soon, just use a torch and bend her back. I have done that plenty of times and works good if your good to do some painting Quote
RoostRocket Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 i was telling sheerider1026 he needs to gusset his frame. basically you have to take the radiator steering stem, front plastics gas tank etc... off and put a jack throught the steering hoop so the jack is pressing up on the hoop. keep jacking it up until it is straight. pretty easy to do just take your time. I have done that plenty of times and works good if your good to do some painting if you use a torch dont get it too hot because the frame is carbon steel and heat will weaken the metal. Quote
