grounded Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 Sent my stock rear to TCS for a revalve/spring/rebuild. I was going to just replace it with an Elka piggyback , but for 300bux I figured its worth a shot. Any way , I'm interested in how well the stock shock( valved and setup properly) worked out for any of you. I still have about 2 weeks until I get it back. I'm hoping for good results  Quote
FireHead Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 I have one. It is better than several of the aftermarket rear shocks I have owned that have cost way more than twice the price. Quote
BansheeDan Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 I have one. It is better than several of the aftermarket rear shocks I have owned that have cost way more than twice the price. i have a tcs dual rate conversion on my bike. the shock is awesome....its so hard to build a shock for my weight (125lbs) and they hit the nail on the head with it.....its a cadillac in the trails and the dunes. grounded Posted July 17, 2007 Author Report Posted July 17, 2007 Awesome! Mines getting set up for duning only , I'm hoping with all the specs I gave them, that only very minor adjustments will have to be made. I'm pretty sure that if you guys were pleased , I'll be happy w/ mine Quote
letsgetthisdone Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 my revalved stock rear fades BAD. i had a loacl guy do it. He put in a racetech gold valve and whatever spring racetecvh reccomended. Hes gone back into it twice to play with the shims. It works OK, but it fades after like 20 minutes....i think my front TCS's with rezzies hold more oil the the POS stock rear....i'm goin for the elka shock and linkage as soon as i have the cash.. IMO, I would take a TCS rebuild over an Elka rear shock, but you can't do that withe linkage thing. I also haven't ridden a bike with that Elka linkage, so I should probably shut up. :geek: Quote
grounded Posted July 18, 2007 Author Report Posted July 18, 2007 I never had a good set up with race tech on my dirt bikes, after multiple times back for springs and valving , I had motoworks set me up and was happy with them , but they won't touch a stock banshee rear shock for some reason. Quote
letsgetthisdone Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 its not a problem with valving or springs. The shock kicks ass for about 20 minutes, then its gone. Kinda like ridin a pogo-stick... Quote
