bansheeyfz Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 ok i haven't ridding it for a month because i didnt have time to jet it right. it was running rich on my 30mm okos s o i drop the main 1 size and adjusted the needle. but now it seems to have alot of smoke coming out the silencers. the bike is jetted correctly for the most part. you think it could have bad rings or something? It runs great though Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 If you ran it very long, with it being rich, you could have had excess unburnt fuel, and oil get into your silencer packing, and pipes. If it's jetted right now, it's probably some of the excess fuel, and oil burning out of the silencer packing, and pipes. If it bothers you, just repack the silencers, but it will still smoke a little more than usual, until the crud gets burnt out of the pipes. Quote

Oil looks whitish but actually blue and trans oil will have the burnt oil smell. If it really is just your packing clearing out, it could take hours of riding to clear it out. You might just slide one half apart and inspect. Dripping with oil is time for packing. The packing does not work as well if it is soaked anyway. Brandon Quote
bansheeyfz Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 I just changed my coolant and oil last night . how would oil have reached the oil? the packing is less the 8 months old Quote

Not sure of the last question, but case oil can get to the crankcase area through a case leak or the crank seal RH. Identify the smoke first. Coolant also burns with a very obvious smell than any motor head could spot from 100 yards away. Brandon Quote
bansheeyfz Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 im preety sure its not coolant Quote
