Snopczynski Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 What year is it. Is the spark still gone or is it there and not starting? Quote
banshee332 Posted June 28, 2007 Author Report Posted June 28, 2007 What year is it. Is the spark still gone or is it there and not starting? I think its a 99 there is no spark at all Quote
Snopczynski Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 I think its a 99 there is no spark at all WAS IT JUST A TOP END JOB, OR A FULL ENGINE REBUILD? IF IT RAN OK BEFORE THE REBUILD AND HAD SPARK THEN MORE THAN LIKELY YOU GUYS MESSED SOMETHING UP. RECHECK THE FLYWHEEL, THE KEY WAY, THE WIRING CONNECTIONS FROM THE STATOR, THE COIL CONNECTIONS, the pickup, and any other wiring or electrical components you touched. Quote

I have completely rebuilt motors several times without anything like this happening. Quote
J-Madd Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 once put back togather it had spark but after I got it to fire a couple times it lost spark. I have completely rebuilt motors several times without anything like this happening. Is it possible that the stator wires were routed in FRONT of the timing plate? The flywheel will rub the wire and eventually ground it. I had that happen once. Motor started and ran, then died and wouldn't start back. Have you checked anything that's been mentioned already? dajogejr Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Check all the TORS connections, even if they're removed on the carbs. Most importantly...make sure the two wires going to the parking brake/clutch lever are disconnected. Then, check the stator and coil caps with an Ohm meter.... Quote

We are not telling you that you dont know what your doing. So was it a full engine rebuild or a top end rebuild? Quote
