Quick Jetting question

I recently changed the pipes on my little brothers banshee from t5's to cpi inframes but never re-jetted it and it ran awesome. We have now swapped out the cpi's for some out-of-frame power-pros and I was wondering if it is necessary to put in a richer jet. Just wondering what you guys think, but I am probably going to just to make sure it doesn't get leaned out.

Practical thinking says a free flowing pipe from T5s to CPI, then CPI to out of frames...

You might have to richen up a bit...but, checking your plugs the proper way (plug chop) will tell you for sure.

if I move the needle up say 1-2 clicks will that richen it or just make it idle a little higher?

OH boy..

 

The pilot air screw handle the throttle from idle to about 1/8 throttle, needle till about 3/4 throttle, then the main jet from 3/4 to WOT.

Changing the needle position will (or...should) have NO effect on idle at all. it will richen or lean the midrange throttle position.

(Towards the blunt end is leaner, toward the pointed end is richer)...

We all got to learn somehow....you've found a good place to start. At the top of this forum are a few stickies...pretty simple, plain english reading which will give a great head start...very good info to refer back to at any time.

went from a 300 to a 310 and dropped the needle on click works like a charm. thanks dajogejr

Keep a close eye on your plugs over the next month or so with the temps changing...probably get a bit richer due to warmer weather...
